In Honkai: Star Rail Blade is one of the Stellaron Hunters announced as playable in update 1.2. In this guide, we will take a closer look at all the abilities and characteristics of Blade and try to understand who should knock out this fighter, and who is better off saving Star Jade for the future.
Blade key features
Blade pros and cons
Stellaron Hunter is a 5-star Wind-type damage hero in the Path of Destruction. All his abilities are aimed at inflicting huge damage to opponents and breaking through wind vulnerability.
The advantages of this hero include the following:
- Easy Build - All of Blade's skills are based on Max HP and Attack Power, which are easy to find in Relics.
- Blade is able to independently restore HP at a certain level of health.
- Can use bonus attacks by gaining Charge from taking damage. The bonus attack deals area damage and restores HP.
- Despite the fact that Blade's skills consume his HP, he cannot die from using them.
- The hero does not require a signature light cone and is quite comfortable to play with 3- and 4-star weapons.
On the other hand, playing as Blade can be quite difficult due to some of his downsides:
- The strengthened basic attack of the hero does not restore skill points. Because of this, you will have to learn how to carefully distribute the use of skills so that other members of the squad can also fulfill themselves.
- Although Blade has the ability to self-heal, his health is often at risk, so it is highly desirable to have a healer on the team. The best fit for this role is Locha, who can heal without spending skill points, but not everyone has this legendary character.
- Blade is dependent not only on healers, but also on other supports needed to deal maximum damage. Among them, legendary heroes are also particularly effective - for example, Armor and Silver Wolf.
- Blade requires eidolons to reach its full potential. If you don't have a good healer yet, a fighter needs E4 for normal survival.
Reasons to spin Blade
Stellaron Hunter offers you an interesting playstyle with constant loss of HP - you may have familiarized yourself with it when playing Arlan or remember Hu Tao from Genshin Impact with similar mechanics. In addition, the ability to perform bonus attacks allows you to follow the Path of Joy in virtual universe to maximize them.
We can highlight a few more reasons to knock Blade out:
- The waifu factor. For some players, a character's appearance, personality, and history are more important than their gameplay and power. Blade is quite an interesting hero with good design, so he will look great in your character gallery.
- The need for a damage dealer. This can be true for both beginners and high-level players - especially for those who have not yet collected two packs for Hall of Oblivion.
- Easy assembly. Also quite an important factor for new players who have not yet figured out the relics and light cones. Even in the initial stages, you probably have a lot of relics with HP, so you can immediately strengthen your hero.
Reasons not to spin Blade
Of course, you shouldn't knock out Blade if you don't like him or if you already have a few strong damage dealers. If you still have doubts, consider these couple of points:
- High cost. Blade's main needs are eidolons and a strong team, that is, for a comfortable game you need either legendary heroes (Locha, Armor) or Blade's eidolons. Both options are expensive, and for F2P players they may not be available at all.
- Availability of alternatives. We can remember 2 heroes that are similar to Blade in their own way: Arlan with the same HP loss mechanics and Dan Heng, a starting damage dealer with a wind type of damage. So, if playing as Arlan you realized that this style of play does not suit you, then Blade will most likely seem uncomfortable to you. Dan Heng, although it can only hit a single target, is available to everyone from the beginning of the game and does not require large investments for pumping.
Conclusions
Having considered all the features of Blade, we can conclude that this is a strong damage dealer, undemanding to build, but in need of a good team or eidolons. You should knock it out if, for example, you do not have a strong second pack in Hall of Oblivion, or you want to try a new style of play. Finally, no one forbids you to get it and just for the collection.
It is also worth considering that Kafka's banner will be released in the second phase of patch 1.2. It is not yet possible to say for sure whether she will be stronger than Blade, but perhaps it is the Stellaron Hunter that suits you more in terms of waifu factor or style of play. If you are missing a primary or secondary DPS with damage over time, Kafka is the best option for you.
One way or another, we advise you to wait for the update and play as Blade in the test run. This will help you understand how comfortable the character is for you, and whether it is worth spending special star passes on it.
