Kafka in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best builds

    Zorthrus

In Honkai: Star Rail Kafka is 5 star character, which has an Electric type of combat and belongs to the path of Nothingness. In a team, she is able to play the role of a primary or secondary damage dealer, aimed at dealing periodic damage (DoT). In this guide, we will tell you about her best builds, light cones And relics. You will also learn about optimal units with her.

Note: Stellaron Hunter is not yet officially released, so the data presented here is based on information received as part of the beta testing. If necessary, we will update the guide when the heroine appears in the game.

    Key Features of Kafka

    How to get Kafka

This character can only be obtained as part of the event Jump called "Stellaron Hunter". The last time this banner was active was during the second phase of patch 1.2. If you want to know in advance about her future rerun, we advise you to bookmark this article.

Note that HoYoverse has never given 5-star characters during the course of events, so you can only get this young lady with the help of Jumps.

    Progression of Kafka Characteristics

In the table below, you can see how the basic parameters of the heroine change as her level increases.

Level Attack Power Protection HP Speed Crete. chance Crete. damage mockery
    1 92 66 148 100 5% 50% 100
    20 180 129 288 100 5% 50% 100
    40 347 248 555 100 5% 50% 100
    60 513 366 821 100 5% 50% 100
    80 679 485 1087 100 5% 50% 100

    Advantages and disadvantages of Kafka

Due to her abilities, she can deal significant electrical damage to both single and multiple targets. Its advantages also include:

    • It has a relatively high base attack rate, which greatly simplifies its use as a main damage dealer. She also has good defense and health values for her class, which increases her survivability.
    • Pairs well with other characters that can deal damage over time, as with the help of her skill and superpower, she can instantly trigger all the negative effects imposed on the enemy, inflicting a lot of damage at once. At the same time, the duration of the debuffs is not reduced, that is, if they have to act for 2 turns, then thanks to Kafka they will be able to deal damage 3 times.
    • When deciding to play from periodic damage, you can pay less attention to pumping the chance of a critical hit and crit. damage, since DoT is not able to crit. So you can focus your main efforts on increasing the hit chance of effects, attack power and speed - all this greatly simplifies the assembly of the heroine.
    • Can independently apply a debuff (Shock) with periodic damage with the help of an ult and a talent. In the latter case, we are talking about a bonus attack that allows you to use Kafka as a sub-DD.
    • Able to perfectly perform its functions without Eidolons. Plus, she can do without a 5-star light cone, which makes her a good option for F2P players.
    • Despite the relatively high cost of the ult (120 units), it is not necessary to significantly increase her energy recovery, since she can restore this scale with one of the Traces and talent.

However, this huntress should not be considered an ideal character, since she also has her drawbacks, namely:

    • Although Kafka can Shock enemies herself, to fully unlock her potential, she still needs allies who can also deal DoT damage, which somewhat limits players in terms of squad building. Plus, if you haven’t played through periodic damage before, then you will most likely have to knock out and pump additional heroes for the huntress.
    • The gameplay from DoT is somewhat different from the more familiar gameplay, where characters instantly inflict direct damage to opponents. It is considered slower and less stable, so it may not be to the taste of all players. The desired result can be obtained only after a few moves, which is why you need to take care of the survivability of the team. Kafka only partially corrects these shortcomings.
    • In the absence of high crits, this heroine will be a support DD, so the team may well need some kind of powerful damage dealer that will increase the overall DPS of the squad.

    Kafka's abilities

When using a basic attack "Midnight Noise" she deals electrical damage equal to 50~130% of her attack power to the enemy. At the same time, it restores 20 units of energy and breaks through 30 units of resistance.

After using the skill "Tender Moonlight" she deals 80~200% and 30~75% of her attack damage as electrical damage to the target and nearby enemies, respectively. If there are DoT effects on the enemy, Kafka additionally deals damage in the amount of 60 ~ 82.5% of all debuffs placed on him. At the same time, the skill restores 30 units of energy and breaks through 60 units of resistance (an explosion can remove another 30 units).

Using superpower "Twilight Trill", she hits all enemies with 48~96% of her Attack Damage as Electric Damage and has a 100% chance to Shock them for 2 turns, instantly dealing additional damage equal to 80~110% of her original value.

At the same time, the enemy with Shock will receive electrical damage in the amount of 116~361% of the hunter's ATK at the beginning of each year. Let's add that the ult breaks through 60 points of resistance and requires 120 units of energy.

As for the passive talent of the heroine - "Cruel Tenderness", it allows her to perform a bonus attack immediately after her ally uses a basic strike. She will deal 42~245% of the heroine's ATK electrical damage to the enemy and Shock them with the same parameters as when using the ult. This talent only triggers once per turn and restores 10 energy.

Not to mention technology "Forgiveness is not related to mercy", the use of which allows you to deal electrical damage to all enemies in the attacked group in the amount of 50% of the hunter's ATK. She also has a 100% chance to Shock them for two turns.

    Traces of Kafka

In addition to the above abilities, the heroine's leveling tree also includes other buffs that provide passive bonuses or permanent increases to characteristics. You can see them all in the picture below.

    Eidolons of Kafka

To unlock them, the materials of the same name are required, issued when duplicates of the heroine drop out, which, of course, is random. And given the rarity of 5-star character drops, be prepared to spend a lot of money and time on it. Fortunately, even without eidolons, Kafka can perfectly play the role of support-DD.

If you want to unleash the full potential of the Stellaron hunter, then we strongly advise you to open at least E1 and E2, which will significantly increase the periodic damage from both Kafka and her teammates. E6, on the other hand, turns Kafka into a full-fledged main-DD, capable of independently inflicting huge direct damage to enemies. The list below lists all Eidolons.

    1. Da Capo - Increases DoT dealt to targets by 30% for 2 turns after landing a bonus attack.
    2. Fortississimo - Increases the DoT of all team members by 25% when Kafka is on the battlefield.
    3. Capriccio - skill level increases by two. Maximum level: 15th.
    4. Recitativo - Restores 2 energy to the heroine when an enemy is damaged by a Shock she has cast.
    5. Doloroso - The level of the ult increases by two, and the basic attack - by one. The maximum level for the first one increases to the 15th, and for the second - to the 10th.
    6. Leggiero - Bonus Attacks, Techniques and Ultimates increase the damage multiplier for enemies with Shock by 156%. The duration of the Shock increases by one turn.

    How to play Kafka

Consider the option in which the heroine is used as a support-DD, since she will be the main one for most players. Its essence lies in the instant launch of all debuffs with periodic damage on the enemy.

Thus, before using Kafka's skill on a target, you need to make sure that the appropriate statuses are present on it, otherwise you will waste the skill, since it does relatively little damage on its own. It is better to use a normal attack and wait until at least the Shock status is applied to the enemies.

Note: Naturally, a lot depends on the situation. For example, if you see that a blow with a skill is not enough to break through the vulnerability of the boss who goes next, then, of course, you need to perform it, even if there are no negative effects on the enemy.

At the same time, it is desirable that Kafka walks after other characters that apply debuffs, but before enemies, so that she can activate them. For this reason, its speed should not be too high or low - a value of 115-120 units will do.

If you have E6 open and crits pumped up, then you can stop paying attention to the presence of other statuses on enemies, causing them significant damage with Kafka's personal abilities. The main thing is the presence of Shock on opponents. By the way, we advise you to definitely use the technique on mobs with electrical vulnerability, because in this way you can apply the necessary debuff on them at the very beginning of the battle.

    The best builds for Kafka

    The best light cones

We have already noted above that the main attention should be paid to the chance of hitting effects, attack power and speed. Crits are recommended to pump hard only if you have the 6th Eidolon open and you intend to use Kafka as a main-DD, without looking at whether the enemies have statuses other than Shock.

Some will probably wonder why the hunter needs to additionally increase effect hit chance, if she already has a base stat value of 100%, and with a trace she can increase it by another 48%. Firstly, the maximum increase can only be achieved at the level 75 of the heroine, as well as when using her ult, bonus attack and technique.

Secondly, some bosses at high levels have resistance to effects up to 40%. As such, we recommend that you increase the above stat to at least 30-40% to ensure that you Shock your enemies. The list below shows all the optimal types of weapons for the heroine.

    Name Characteristics Ability

Just have to wait (5 stars)

    HP: 48~1058

    Attack Power: 26~582

    Protection: 21~463

Increases damage dealt by 24~40%. Each new hit increases speed by 4.8~8%. The bonus stacks up to three times. Casts Gossamer that deals 60~100% of the wearer's Attack Damage over time as Shock Damage over one turn. A signature for Kafka that enhances all of its positive aspects. Thanks to the increased speed and additional Shock, she will be able to "explode" debuffs on enemies even more actively.

    For Peace (5 stars)

    HP: 48~1058

    Attack Power: 26~582

    Protection: 21~463

Increases damage dealt to Enemies with Debuffs by 24-40%. After using the skill, the chance to hit effects increases by 18-30%, and attack power - by 24-40%. The damage over time debuff is also considered a debuff, so Kafka with this weapon will be able to deal additional damage to the enemy (don't forget that she herself can apply Shock, and the chance of applying it will increase). Attack power will increase ability damage.

    Incessant Rain (5 stars)

    HP: 48~1058

    Attack Power: 26~582

    Protection: 21~463

Increases the chance to hit effects by 24~40%. Dealing damage to an enemy with 3 or more Debuffs increases the Hero's Critical Chance by 12~20%. When attacked, has a 100% chance to place an Ethereal Code on an enemy, increasing any damage dealt against them by 12~20%. If for some reason you knocked out this weapon, but did not get the Silver Wolf, you can give it to Kafka, who will need an increase in the chance to hit the effects. But with the second part of the passive, everything is somewhat more complicated. Firstly, you are unlikely to be able to constantly gain 3 debuffs on the enemy, and secondly, increasing the crit chance for a hunter who relies only on DoT is almost useless.

Before the start of the training mission (4 stars)

    HP: 43~952

    Attack Power: 21~476

    Protection: 15~330

Increases the chance to hit effects by 24~40%. When hitting an enemy with reduced defense, the cone restores 4 points of energy to the character. A more preferred option for Kafka than the previous cone, as it significantly increases the stat she needs. Thus, in relics, you can focus on improving other characteristics, for example, attack power. The extra energy will allow her to ult more often. But to get it, you will need to take Pela or the Silver Wolf to the squad. In addition, it could be obtained completely free of charge as part of the event "Star Hunt".

    Victim's Eye (4 stars)

    HP: 43~952

    Attack Power: 21~476

    Protection: 15~330

Increases the chance to hit effects by 20-40% and increases damage over time by 24-48%. The best 4-star cone for Kafka, which increases the chance of inflicting Shock and increases the damage it deals. Plus, all of these buffs have no conditions, so they will be permanent.

    Fermata (4 stars)

    HP: 43~952

    Attack Power: 21~476

    Protection: 15~330

Increases the penetration effect by 16-32%, and the damage dealt to enemies with the Weathering and Shock status by 16-32%. The bonus also affects periodic damage. A good cone that makes it easier to break through the vulnerabilities of enemies when using Kafka and increases the damage from Shock. We advise you to add Sampo to the squad so that the bonus works almost constantly. Note that this cone can be bought in the Kamengrad shop for 2600 shields.

Good night and peaceful sleep (4 stars)

    HP: 43~952

    Attack Power: 21~476

    Protection: 15~330

Increases damage by 12-24% for each Debuff on the target Enemy, stacking up to 3 times. The bonus also affects periodic damage. Given that Kafka regularly Shocks enemies, the weapon bonus will work almost all the time. If there are other debuffers with it (not necessarily with DoT), then the damage will increase even more.

    Best Relics

As for the choice of ordinary relics mined in the caves of corrosion, we advise you to collect a full set "Sizzling Thunder Band", 2 parts of which increase electrical damage by 10%, and 4 parts increase ATK by 20% for one turn after the skill is used.

If you don't have the full set yet, you can combine it with "Wild Wheat Shooter", 2 parts of which increase attack power by 12%, and 4 parts increase the speed and damage of the basic hit by 6% and 10%, respectively. At first, you can only use this kit at all, since Kafka will benefit from an increase in both ATK and speed.

Now let's move on to planar decorations that are mined in the Virtual Universe. The list below shows the recommended options (the numbers indicate the priority of the selection):

    1. Space Sealing Station - Increases ATK by 12%. Gain an additional 12% to this stat if the character's speed is equal to or greater than 120 units. The best option for the heroine, as it significantly increases the damage from her skills. True, you will have to pay more attention to increasing speed.
    2. Pangalactic Enterprise - Increases the chance to hit effects by 10%. Attack power is increased by 25% of the character's current chance to hit with effects. Maximum ATK can increase by 25%. An excellent option that increases two parameters at once that are important to Kafka.
    3. Living Wonwak - Increases the rate of energy recovery by 5%. If the character's speed is at least 120 units, then his action at the beginning of the battle moves forward by 40%. Allows you to use your ult more often. The second part of the passive will allow the hunter to go first, inflicting Shock on enemies or triggering debuffs imposed on enemies.

As for the characteristics of relics, then you need to choose as follows:

    • Body: Attack Power/Effect Hit Chance/Crits (if full DD)
    • Legs: Speed/Attack Power
    • Planar Sphere: Electric Damage
    • Connecting rope: attack power / energy recovery (if there is a shortage of it)
    • Additional stats: Attack Power > Chance to Hit Effects > Speed > Penetration Effect > Crits

    Best Commands for Kafka

When using Kafka, you have to build a squad around her, that is, take characters that can deal periodic damage to enemies even without breaking through their vulnerabilities, for example, Sampo, Hook and Serval. Then you can take one buffer from the path of Harmony to strengthen the hunter.

It should also be remembered that DoT teams need to last as long as possible on the battlefield, so they must have a good shielder and / or healer in them. In some cases, you can even sacrifice a buffer.

If Kafka plays the role of a sub-DD, then you can take a main-DD that applies effects after breaking through the enemy's vulnerability, for example, Blade, Dan Heng, Sushan, Clara or Himeko. In this case, the DoT may drop slightly, but the direct damage of the group will increase. The table below shows a few optimal units with a Stellaron hunter.

    Pumping Kafka

How to increase abilities (what to download first)

The pictures below show the materials and their amount required for the maximum pumping of the basic attack, skill, superpower and talent.

    • Obsidian of Horror, Desolation and Possession is obtained from a sepal located in the Big Mine (Yarilo-VI), or with the help of Synthesis.
    • Thief Instinct, Twisted Ambition and Conqueror's Will are harvested from the Antimatter Legion, errands, and enemies in the Virtual Universe or through Fusion.
    • Repentance of the Eternal False Body - Obtained in the Echo of War located in the Scaled Gorge (Lofu Xianzhou).
    • Imprints of Destiny - obtained in the Virtual Universe, issued with a battle pass and bought for inextinguishable ashes in the Pom Pom store. Sometimes they are a reward in temporary events.

As for the priority of pumping abilities, it is advisable to pump superpower, skill and talent in parallel to each other. In case of limited resources, first pump the ult, and then the skill and passive (that is, it should be ahead of the last two by 1-2 levels).

How to level up a character

At certain levels, you will need to raise the heroine by spending a large amount of resources and credits:

    • Ascension (level 30): x4000 credits and x5 thief instinct
    • Ascension (level 40): x8000 credits and x10 thief instinct
    • Ascension (level 50): x16000 credits, x6 warped ambitions and x3 werewolf electric staff
    • Ascension (level 60): x40000 credits, x9 warped ambitions and x7 werewolf electric staff
    • Ascension (level 70): credits x80000, will of the conqueror x6 and electric staff of the werewolf x20
    • Ascension (level 80): credits x160000, will of the conqueror x9 and electric staff of the werewolf x35

Werewolf's Electric Staff can be obtained from the Doomshape Stagnant Shadow located in Nawalia Astrogazer Port (Lofu Xianzhou).
