In Honkai: Star Rail expansion chips are equipment equipped on ethereal spirits as part of the event "Aether Wars". They allow you to give creatures unique abilities, significantly increasing their combat potential. Choosing the right chips can very well turn the tide of battle in your favor, so in this guide we'll tell you about the best chips for all spirits.
Best Ethereal Spirit Chips in Honkai: Star Rail
How to get expansion chips
You can obtain new expansion chips in several ways, namely:
- By completing Victory Zones during the quest chain "Interstellar Festival-Tournament". Be sure to fight with players to get new equipment.
- Participate in online matches. In addition to data for upgrading creatures, you will also receive new chips.
- Talk to Barry at the Old Proving Grounds after receiving two Mastery Badges to receive two chips from him.
How to choose expansion chips for ethereal spirits
Chips, like ethereal spirits, are divided into three main types: defense, support and attack. It would be logical to assume that attacking schemes are better suited for damage dealers, defensive ones for tanks, and supporting ones for supports. Use the filter in the chip selection menu to quickly find the options you need.
Note: Of course, you should also listen to the advice of the game itself, which highlights with the word “Recommended” those chips that are best suited for certain creatures.
At the same time, there is also a special type of chip that gives creatures unique abilities, for example, reducing the energy required to use an ult or giving an extra move. They can often significantly strengthen your overlord, so don't forget to use them.
Let’s add that with full pumping, you can only place two chips on ordinary spirits, three chips on overlords, and as many as four chips on a space piggy bank.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you'll be using different creatures in different battles, so don't be afraid to swap chips from a spirit you don't currently plan to use to an active fighter. Therefore, do not be surprised if you see in the table below that several ethereal spirits use the same set of chips.
