The biggest event of the first half of update 1.4 Honkai: Star Rail gave players the opportunity to participate in Interstellar festival-tournament, tied to fights, the main participants of which are ethereal spirits - copies of opponents already known to us from different parts of the Star Express universe. Event « Ethereal Wars "allows you to hone your combat skills, but not all battles will be easy. This guide will allow you to choose the best packs for completing all victory zones and duels with champions.
How to select a squad
In all victory zones you can come across a limited number of ethereal spirits, each of which relates to a specific type of damage. Companions can be modified, increasing their level, and you can also equip expansion chips - with their help you can strengthen creatures and create builds for different needs of the squad.
Types of Ethereal Spirits
You should not ignore the opposition of various types to each other - unlike character elements, who, due to high leveling and the help of allies, can ignore the fact that they are not able to penetrate the enemy’s vulnerability, our copied companions significantly lose in damage when they attack ethers with a stronger "element". Pay attention to the advantages of types over each other:
- Inomorphs > Anthropomorphs;
- Anthropomorphs > Mechomorphs;
- Mechomorphs > Inomorphs;
A hit against an ether of a weaker type buffs the damage by x1.5, and against a stronger one: by x0.8.
Roles in the squad
The next thing you need to pay attention to is the role of the ethereal spirits in the squad. If in the first zone you don’t feel that there are, say, three attacking and one healing units in a pack, then the final stages of the championship will force you to restart the match more than once and change the composition of the team. For your convenience, we have divided all the ethereal spirits by their positions:
Attack | Fire from Space, Void Ranger: Suppressor, Imaginary Weaver, Silvermane Guardian Gunslinger, Void Ranger: Annihilator, Timberwolf, Froststrider, Spider Automaton, Void Ranger: Invader; |
Hill | Piggy Bank, Submissive Lion Dragon; |
Protection | Lieutenant of the Silvermane Guards, Shadow of Everwinter, Shadow of Incineration; |
Support | Silvermane Guard Gunner, Silvermane Guard Soldier, Vagabond; |
Buff\debuff | Aurumaton Gatekeeper, Glowing Dragonfish; |
Remember that you can take into the squad only one legendary broadcast, however, the rarity of a unit does not always prevail over its usefulness in a particular battle.
Chips
As a reward for various duels, you will receive ability modifiers. These cartridges greatly buff the capabilities of ethereal spirits (learn from separate guide, which chips are suitable for each creature).
As you progress through the tournament, you'll be able to collect over 30 different chips, but don't worry too much about which ones to put on your companions - use the "recommended" cartridges, focused on specific creatures, which are more likely to be enough for a match of any difficulty.
The main thing is not to forget to swap boosts from one ether to another, because the same chip can suit several creatures at once and be occupied by an ally from the same pack. Make sure each spirit has a sufficient number of extensions.
Victory zones
Corridor of Vanishing Echoes
For the first starting area, we suggest collecting the following universal version of the pack:
- Piggy Bank, Imaginary Weaver, Gunner of the Silver-Maned Guardians, Fire from Space;
A starting and well-balanced squad consisting mainly of alien creatures. We recommend that you first distribute points to increase levels between the legendary Fire from Space and the piggy bank: the overlord spirit is capable of inflicting the highest area damage, and the little mascot is able to heal the team.
Cloud crossing
A new type of enemy appears in Cloud Crossing - Mechomorphs. Since they are stronger than aliens, who were given advantage in the previous zone, we recommend the following units for the second zone:
- Silvermane Guard Lieutenant, Silvermane Guard Gunner, Silvermane Pig, Silvermane Guard Gunner;
This starting unit has a good balance of roles: the Lieutenant places shields on allies, attacking which will immediately be counterattacked by enemies. The Gunner, through his ult, helps accumulate superpowers, and also provides bonus attack support to the selected squad member. The shooter acts as a DD and can receive good support, protection and healing from his party members.
- Lieutenant of the Silvermane Guards, Timberwolf, Dragonfish, Dragonlion;
The second version of the squad is suitable in battles against aliens, which are also found at the level. This pack is built on the imposition of negative statuses by the dragon fish, as well as their further activation by the E-wolf. You can take a lion-dragon as a healer, and to provide protection - the same Lieutenant, who will help prevent the fish from being defeated, otherwise, when destroyed, it will hit the allies with a blast wave.
Hertha space station
At the space station level, you can try the following squad builds:
- Aurumaton Gatekeeper, Dragonfish, Piggy Bank, Gunner of the Silver-Maned Guardians;
Despite the fact that the big robot is a debuffer, it can deal good damage and also summon two dragon fish with its ult, which, when attacking, impose negative statuses on enemies. In combination with another fish in the squad, you will receive high damage over time. The gunner is needed here in order to support Aurumaton, who most often becomes the target of the enemy, and also to help accumulate his ult.
Such a squad can be called universal, since most of the opponents at the Hertha station are aliens. However, you can also swap out the Gunner for a Timber Wolf, which will activate all statuses on enemy units with an E-Shock.
Big mine
In the mine you will encounter a large number of strong opponents using units with mixed types of damage, so you can pay attention to the following builds:
- Silvermane Guard Lieutenant, Silvermane Guard Gunner, Silvermane Guard Gunner, Piggy Bank;
Since at the beginning of the level you will mostly encounter mechomorph enemies, we advise you to pick up a squad against them, which we already mentioned in the paragraph with the Cloud Crossing. This command (and also detachment from the ship "Gerta" ) will help in battle with Automata Fan, Giovanni and Frost Wanderer. And by replacing the Gunner with one of the Void Rangers, you can win a duel against Naive player.
- Void Ranger: Suppressor, Silvermane Guardian Gunner, Void Ranger: Destroyer\Invader, Piggy Bank;
The pack works well against anthropomorphic enemies, causing high damage to targets. It will be useful more than once when exploring a location and in a match against Exhausted miner.
Victory! Interstellar holiday!
After completing all 4 victory zones, the Pathfinder gets the opportunity to enter the fight for the champion title as part of the quest “ Victory! Interstellar holiday! "
Before each battle, do not forget to check and, if necessary, level up your companions, as well as rearrange recommended chips.
Next, we’ll look at which units can be used in duels with strong opponents.
Luke
Luke's team mostly consists of aliens, so we suggest using one of the best pack options:
- Aurumaton Gatekeeper, Gunner of the Silver-Maned Guardians, Dragon Fish, Piggy Bank\Lion Dragon;
The advantages of this assembly were described in the paragraph about the Space Station zone, but let us add that for better efficiency, equip Aurumaton with the “Efficiency Optimization” chip, which will reduce the number of points for the ult, which means the gatekeeper will ult more often.
Guinaifen
To fight the ardent artist, you can use the same squad as when fighting Luka. The second option would be the following command:
- Frost Wanderer, Timber Wolf, Spider Automaton, Piggy Bank;
This pack will work thanks to the shock applied by the wolf, as well as the total damage of other units. The spider becomes the final accent, causing an explosion with an ult on weakened opponents (do not rush into action, because after it the robot will self-destruct). In a duel, focus on attacks on the enemy dragon fish, or on Fire from space.
Silver Wolf
The hacker's squad consists almost entirely of aliens, and we wrote about one of the variants of the pack against her in separate article, so let’s consider another, no less effective assembly:
- Aurumaton Gatekeeper, Dragonfish, Void Ranger: Destroyer, Piggy Bank\Lion Dragon;
The core here is, oddly enough, the Destroyer. Although its damage type is the same as most of the Ethers in the Wolf squad, due to the support of Aurumaton and the Dragonfish, the shooter will be able to perform strong finishing attacks. To avoid the explosive destruction of the fish, we recommend installing an “Attack Interception” chip on it - the amplifier will allow you to avoid all damage once. But it is worth mentioning that in such a pack, losses of squad members are possible.
Giovanni
One interesting option for a battle with the main sponsor of the tournament would be this pack:
- Silvermane Guard Lieutenant, Silvermane Guard Gunner, Silvermane Pig, Silvermane Guard Gunner;
The rotation when playing for this team is as follows: be sure to give the Lieutenant the “Shield System” chip, which will be more likely to aggro enemies against him. Also use the Gunner skill on him to deal additional damage to targets when a party member counterattacks. The shooter will act as the main damage dealer, while being under the “protection” of the above scheme (the likelihood of attacks against him will drop significantly).
Topaz
The final champion of the tournament, Topaz, uses mostly anthropomorphic KKM employees in battle. We talked about one of the options for how to win a duel with her in separate guide, and now let’s describe another equally effective squad:
- Silvermane Guard Lieutenant, Void Ranger: Annihilator, Piggy Bank, Silvermane Guard Gunner;
The purpose of the fight: to focus the attention of enemies on the Lieutenant, who wears the Shield System chip and uses the support of the Gunner skill. The Destroyer will become the main damage dealer of the team, and by giving him the “Emergency Overload” expansions (can be obtained in an online match with Oleg) and “Effective Overrun”, the ranger will be able to get a good speed buff.
Elite Player: Hook
The last, and rather problematic enemy is Hook, whose squad includes two large etheric mechomorphs, as well as two Imaginary Weavers. And this is only the first half of the battle: in the second half, the Frost and Burning Wanderers, accompanied by the Ice and Fire Shadows, await you. We propose to include the following candidates in the winning team:
- Silvermane Guard Lieutenant, Silvermane Guard Gunner, Silvermane Pig, Silvermane Guard Gunner;
Use the same approach as in the battle with Giovanni, but with one addition: we recommend putting the “Automatic Repair” chip on the Gunner, and “Data Extraction” on the Strelok. Both boosters will increase unit survivability. In the battle itself, it is difficult to identify any main target; it is better to pay attention to finishing off those enemies who have the least HP. However, in the first half of the match, it is better to shoot at the grizzlies, as the robot can summon spiders, if you do not finish them off in time, you will receive unpleasant damage after the explosion.
