In Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) Grace is 5 star character, which belongs to the Anomaly type and uses the Electro attribute. In a squad, she can play the role of a secondary, and sometimes even the main damage dealer. In this guide, you will learn about her best build, amplifiers And drive discs, as well as recommended commands with it
Grace's Key Features
How to get Grace
We are talking about a standard legendary character that can be obtained in three different ways:
- As part of the ongoing "Star Cast" banner, and it can drop out during the first 50 signal searches during the promotion for beginners. Then the usual rules come into effect, in which you can knock out Grace on the 90th spin.
- As part of the "Agent of your choice" promotion, that is, you need to perform 300 signal searches in the standard banner, and then you will have the opportunity to choose Grace in the corresponding menu. You can take her even if you already have her - in this case, you will be given her profile for the mental picture.
- It has a 50% chance of appearing in an event banner if you you will lose 50/50.
Unfortunately, HoYoverse I've never held an event where the reward was a 5-star fighter, so you definitely won't be able to get a technomaniac for free.

Grace's abilities and their leveling priority
You can read about the heroine's abilities in the game itself, so we decided to add it under the spoiler so as not to increase the size of the article. We also recommend that you study our combat system guide, to better understand it.
Basic attacks
Nail gun
Press the Basic Attack button (LMB) to launch. Grace performs up to 4 hits, dealing physical and electrical damage. While activating the Basic Attack, move the joystick (WASD) to attack while moving. This allows Grace to move while dealing physical damage.
When Grace performs a basic attack, her basic attack combo is not interrupted by special attacks, enhanced special attacks, dodges, dash attacks, or counterattacks after a dodge.
Evasion
Evasion: Safety precautions
Press the dodge button (RMB or L Shift) to dodge. Quick dodge. The character is invulnerable while using this skill.
Attack in a dash: Unscheduled inspection
To activate, press the Basic Attack button (LMB) while dodging. Grace will slide forward and fire a burst of fire, dealing physical damage.
Counterattack after dodge: Penalty for violation
To activate, press the Basic Attack button (LMB) after performing a Perfect Dodge. Grace throws a grenade at enemies, dealing electrical damage. The character is invulnerable while using this skill.
Help
Quick Help: Emergency Response
To activate, press the help button (Space) when the active character is thrown. Grace throws a grenade at the enemy, dealing electric damage. The character is invulnerable while using this skill.
Help with Avoidance: Responding Quickly to Risks
To activate, press the help button (Space) when the character is about to be attacked. The agent dodges enemy attacks and activates heightened perception. The character is invulnerable while using this skill.
Additional Attack Assist: Electric Counter
To activate, press the Basic Attack button (LMB) after an evade assist. Grace unleashes a hail of lead on enemies in front of her and throws a grenade, dealing electrical damage. The character is invulnerable while using this skill.
Special attacks
Engineering clearing
Press the Special Attack button (E) to activate. Grace throws a grenade in front of her, dealing electric damage. While the skill is active, use the joystick (WASD) to control Grace's movement. Interruption resistance is increased while using this skill.
Non-standard engineering clearing
To activate, press the Special Attack button (E) when Grace has enough energy. Grace jumps in the air and throws two grenades in front of her, dealing massive electrical damage. While the skill is active, use the joystick to control Grace's movement. The character is invulnerable while using this skill.
Attack chains
Attack Chain: Elimination Mode
To activate, select an agent when a chain of attacks is triggered. Grace throws three grenades into the air and detonates them with a hurricane of fire, dealing massive electrical damage. The character is invulnerable while using this skill.
Superpower: Beware, explosive demolition
To activate, press the Ultimate button (Q) at maximum decibel level. Grace throws a special grenade that explodes in the air and splits into four smaller grenades, dealing massive electrical damage. The character is invulnerable while using this skill.
Makings
Main Passive Skill: Winded Needle
When Grace hits an enemy with a Basic Attack or a Dash Attack and deals Physical Damage, she gains 1 level of Shake (up to 8 levels in total). When Shake levels reach the maximum, a Special Attack or Enhanced Special Attack will consume all Shake levels and increase the skill's Electric Anomaly accumulation by 65-130%.
Additional ability: Technical support department
If there is another agent with the same attribute or from the same faction in the party: When Grace hits an enemy with her enhanced Special Attack, the damage of the next Shock the enemy receives is increased by 18%. This effect stacks up to 2 times, can only occur once per enemy, and resets when the enemy is released from Shock.
As for leveling up the heroine's talents, then the priority should be the inclinations and special attacks, as they are the main source of her damage. Next in importance are dodges (you will often wedge them into your combos) and basic attacks (they will be the beginning of any of your combos).
Once you've maxed out these abilities, you can move on to upgrading chains of hits (ultimate), increasing Grace's overall damage. Upgrade Assist last, as it's noticeably less useful than other abilities.
Grace's Mental Picture
To open it, you need to accumulate Agent Profiles, which are given out when duplicates of the heroine fall out, which, of course, is random. Considering the small chance of getting 5-star characters, you will need to spend a lot of time and money to unlock all the mental girls. However, even without them, Grace can easily play the role of a sub-DD.
The table below lists all the mental abilities, their descriptions and benefits for the heroine.
Name | Bonus | Utility |
---|---|---|
Reloading chamber | When Grace hits an enemy with her 4th hit of her basic attack, all party members gain 0.25 energy. A single hit can restore up to 2 party energy. | Unfortunately, the energy regeneration is quite small, so it will not have a significant impact on the team. Average benefit. |
Insulation breakdown | When the grenade Grace throws during her Basic Attack, Special Attack, or Enhanced Special Attack hits an enemy, their Electricity Resistance is reduced by 8.5% and their Electric Attribute Anomaly Accumulation Resistance is reduced by 8.5%. Lasts for 8 seconds. | Grace will be able to independently reduce the resistance of enemies to Electro, which will increase the likelihood of applying Shock to them, which will significantly increase the effectiveness of the heroine. Very high benefit. |
Chief Mechanic | Basic Attack, Evasion, Assist, Special Attack, Chain Attack Level +2. | Average benefit. |
Explosive capacitor | Grace gains 6 charge levels (max) when using her enhanced special attack. When she hits an enemy with her basic attack or dash attack, she spends 1 charge level, increasing the energy generation from the current skill by 20%. | Grace can easily accumulate 6 stacks of charge after one use of the enhanced special attack, and then quickly spend them on energy recovery. This will allow you to use the enhanced E almost non-stop. Highly useful. |
Ice Iron Witch | Basic Attack, Evasion, Assist, Special Attack, Chain Attack Level +2. | Average benefit. |
Detonation button | When Grace uses a Special Attack or a Powered Special Attack, consuming all of her Shake stacks, the skill is enhanced, causing Grace to throw an additional grenade, and the damage of each grenade is increased by 200% of the original value. | Grace uses her special attack quite often, so this passive will increase her damage significantly. High utility. |
Note that the probability of getting a certain standard leg is even lower than the event one, because their drop is random. If you have already dropped it and you are wondering whether to take its duplicate after 300 spins, then we still advise you to take a closer look at Rina, who will bring her more benefit than M1.
How to play as Grace
Basic combinations
Use basic and dash attacks to accumulate Shake levels. You can see the number of accumulated charges under the heroine's health bar if she is the active character.
Once you reach 8 stacks of Shake, immediately use a special attack (standard or enhanced) to spend the charges and increase the accumulation of Electrical Anomaly, which will significantly speed up the application of Shock to enemies.
It is worth remembering that the enhanced E increases the damage from the next Shock received by the enemy, so it is necessary to use it before switching to another character. In general, the standard combination for Grace will look like this:
- Use basic/dash attacks until you reach 8 Shake.
- Use a special attack. Repeat these two actions until you inflict Shock on the enemy.
- Activate the enhanced special attack and switch to the main damage dealer.
Advanced Combinations
Grace can be a key character in both Abnormal and Shock packs, relying on cheap and frequently used special attacks and activating her Main Passive (accumulate 8 levels of Shake and increase the damage of Electro Anomaly).
We have already noted above that special attacks are the heroine's main ability, and her end lags can be cancelled by dodging. Upon reaching the 3rd use of her E, a general cooldown applies to dodging. At this point, you can use a basic attack to neutralize this effect and immediately start the next rotation. This rotation is relatively simple and allows you to quickly put enemies into a state of Shock. It looks like this:
- Accumulate 8 levels of Shake, use a normal or enhanced special attack (triggers a passive) and use Dodge (reduces action delay).
- Accumulate 8 levels of Shake, use a normal or enhanced special attack (triggers a passive) and use Dodge (reduces action delay).
- Accumulate 8 levels of Shake, use a normal or enhanced special attack (triggers passive), and use a basic attack.
- Increases damage from Grace's Electro Anomaly.
- Switch to other characters to speed up the accumulation of decibel rating and activate the ult.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Grace
With her unique abilities, the techno-maniac can deal significant Electro damage to both single targets and large groups of enemies. Her advantages also include:
- Most of her attacks involve movement-based actions controlled by the player, making Grace one of the most mobile characters in the game.
- Incredibly fast combos allow Grace to synergize well with any main DD without having to fight them for field time.
- Deals most of her damage through Shock, which once applied can be triggered by other characters even when Grace isn't on the battlefield.
- A key character for the Shock Pack, making her a must-have heroine in such a squad (at least at this stage of the game).
- The cost of the enhanced special attack is incredibly low, so you will be able to activate it much more often than other characters.
- Quite an active game style, requiring accumulation and spending of Shake levels and based on constant movement. At the same time, the gameplay itself is not overloaded with unnecessary actions and is quite easy to master.
However, Grace cannot be called an ideal character, as she also has her drawbacks:
- Due to Grace's constant dodging and dashing, it's easy to get too far away from her opponents if you don't keep an eye on her movements at all times.
- Re-applying Shock to enemies already under the debuff will not deal additional damage to them, but will only refresh the duration of the effect, making Shock spamming possible, but not very useful (Chaos can be used to solve this problem).
- She has a relatively high damage potential, but is still more difficult to use as a main DD than characters that are specifically designed for this role, so in most cases it is better to use her as a sub-DD to boost another damage dealer, such as Anton.
- Her best support, Rina, is also a 5-star standard character that can be hard to get, and without her, Grace's effectiveness drops significantly.
Best build for Grace
The best amplifiers
The table below presents the most interesting options.
Name | Characteristics | Ability and benefit |
---|---|---|
Built-in compiler |
Base Attack: 46-684 Penetration chance: 9.6-24% |
Attack power increases by 12-24%. When launching a special attack or enhanced special attack, the agent's anomaly knowledge with this item increases by 25-50 units. The effect stacks up to 3 times, lasts for 8 seconds. The duration of each level is calculated separately. A signature item for Grace that increases all the attributes she needs. She will be able to easily activate the weapon's passive, as she often uses a special attack. |
Crying Twins |
Base Attack: 40-594 Attack Power: 10-25% |
Whenever a squad member casts an attribute anomaly on an enemy, the agent with this item gains 1 additional level of the effect, increasing their knowledge of the anomaly by 30-48 points. This effect can stack up to 4 times and disappears if the target is released from the stun state or is destroyed. The duration of each effect is calculated separately. You can buy it in the toy store, and at the 5th rank of improvement it lags behind the signature by only 5-6%. Stacks are collected quite quickly in packs on the Anomaly. |
Electro Lip Gloss |
Base Attack: 40-594 Anomaly Knowledge: 30-75 |
If there are enemies with attribute anomaly on the battlefield, the attack power of the agent with this item increases by 10-16%, and the damage of the target agent increases by 15-25%. At the 5th rank of improvement and with all active bonuses, it surpasses even the signature one, but to get 5 copies of the amplifier, you will have to spend a lot of money and time. In addition, it takes time to activate the passive, so at the beginning of the battle, the damage from the weapon will be mediocre. This is the reason why we placed it below the previous option. |
Tropical Gourmet |
Base Attack: 40-594 Anomaly Knowledge: 30-75 |
For every 10 energy spent, an agent with this item gains a 2.5-4% attack boost for 10 sec. The effect stacks up to 10 times, with each level's duration counted separately. A good free option that can significantly increase Grace's attack power. Stacks will be gained quickly, because Grace often uses her special attack. Lagging behind the Weeping Twins by a few percent. |
Best Drive Discs
Name | Bonuses | Advantages |
---|---|---|
Thunderous Heavy Metal (4 parts) Freedom Blues (2 parts) |
2 parts: Increases electrical damage by 10%. 4 pieces: If there is an enemy in Shock on the battlefield, the attack power of the agent with this item increases by 28%. 2 parts: Increases knowledge of anomalies by 30 units. |
Ideal for mono-Electro packs with Grace, where you'll be constantly applying Shock to enemies that won't be interrupted by Chaos. |
Freedom Blues (4 parts) Thunderous Heavy Metal/Swing Jazz (2 parts) |
2 parts: Increases knowledge of anomalies by 30 units. 4 parts: When hitting an enemy with a strengthened special attack, the enemy's resistance to the wearer's attribute anomaly is reduced by 20% for 8 seconds. Effects for one attribute do not stack. 2 parts: Increases electrical damage by 10%. 2 parts: Increases energy recovery by 20%. |
This set is suitable for Grace used in any other teams. She will look especially good in squads playing through Chaos. If you want to increase the heroine's personal damage, then take Thunderous Heavy Metal, and if you want to use the enhanced special attack more often - Swing Jazz. |
As for main characteristics of drives, then your selection should look like this:
- IV-sector: knowledge of anomaly (priority) or attack power%.
- V-sector: Electric damage bonus (priority) or penetration chance.
- VI-sector: anomaly control (priority) or attack power%.
- Substats: Anomaly Knowledge > Attack Power% > Penetration Chance
If we talk about recommended values of Grace parameters, then they should look something like this:
- Attack: 2300-3000 units
- Health: 9500+
- Defense: 800+
- Anomaly Control: 150-190 units
- Knowledge of anomaly: 350-450 units
