Goldflame Qucusaur Tyrant in Genshin Impact: How to Find and Defeat Holawaku Ngubu

    Zorthrus

IN Genshin Impact The Goldflame Qucusaur Tyrant is a huge saurian and elite boss, added to the game With You the release of update 5.0. Holawaki Ngubu drops the Mark of the Binding Blessing, which is required to ascend certain characters. In this guide, you will learn where to find this enemy, what team you should prepare to fight him, the fastest way to defeat him, and what achievements you will be able to unlock.

Where to find Golden Flame Tyrant Kukusaur

There are no additional requirements to unlock access to this boss, so in fact you can get to him right after completing the Archons' quest "Song of the Dragon and Freedom". However, we still advise you to start with Natlan quest chain.

So, first of all, get to Natlan by moving to the opened teleporter west of the Hadramavet Desert. Next, get to the Pyro Archon statue, located east of the Stadium of the Holy Flame. From there, start moving along the road to the northwest. Enter the gorge ahead, in front of the entrance to which there are wooden buildings.

Continue moving forward along the canyon until you see the entrance to a cave. Enter it and continue deeper into the dungeon. Fly to the other side, where you can see a waterfall, and activate the teleporter. A little lower and ahead you will find an empty arena with a red dragon circling above. The entire route is shown on the map above.

    Golden Flame Tyrant Kukusaur Respawn

Once you've dealt with this boss, it will respawn almost instantly - you'll need to teleport to another area or re-enter the game for the huge Saurian to respawn. Also remember that you'll need to spend 40 Primordial Resin to collect the rewards from it.

    Golden Flame Tyrant Kukusaur's Stats

Even in its normal state, this enemy has 70% resistance to Pyro , but its resistance to other types of damage (including physical) is only 10%. When the boss throws a Noelle: Protector on himself, he becomes invulnerable to any attacks. All this imposes certain restrictions on the selection of characters for the battle with this enemy.

If we talk about the combat parameters of this red dragon, it has average health indicators, but its attack power significantly exceeds similar values. The Monstrous Baptist or Setekh Wenut. For example, at level 90, his base HP is 460 thousand units (the Baptist has 371 thousand), and ATK is 19 thousand units (the Baptist has 15.2 thousand). You can see all the enemy's characteristics in the image below (2P, 3P and 4P show the parameters when playing in a co-op).

    Tips for choosing heroes

Considering the average health bar and the boss's huge attack power, we advise you to pay as much attention to the squad's survivability as to its damage. If you see that your shielder cannot cope with the incoming damage, then you can safely take a healer into the pack. He will help heal after powerful enemy area attacks.

Primary and secondary damage dealers can be classified as Hydro, Electro, Cryo, Dendro, Anemo and/or Geo elements , however, we recommend sticking with the first three elements (especially Hydro) as they combine best with Pyro to create the reactions needed to break the boss's shield (more on that below).

You can also try to assemble a pack for physical damage, which often consists of main DD and sub-DD related to Cryo and Electro elements. This way you will be able to not only inflict great physical damage, but also destroy the dragon's Noelle: Protector . We will add that archers will be very useful, who will be able to get the boss when he goes into the Golden Flame state.

As for supports, they can be of any element, since their main task will be to increase the elemental damage of damage dealers, that is, they will still attack the enemy infrequently. This also applies to shielders and healers.

    Optimal teams

Considering the above information, we have prepared some of the most suitable units with which you will be able to deal with the Emperor of Fire and Iron the easiest. They are shown in the table below.

Golden Flame Tyrant Kukusaur's Attacks and Moves

    Fire Wave

The boss rises up a little and then slams his paws on the ground, dealing fire damage around him.

    Wing flap

The boss does a sweeping wing slash, dealing damage to Pyro, and then immediately does the Fire Wave described above.

    Jerk

Dashes towards the character, dealing damage to Pyro when attacking, and then performs two sweeping wing strikes in front of him. If the first strike hits the player, the second strike will deal half as much damage.

    Spin and jerk

The boss first spins around itself, dealing area damage, and then flies towards the character like a drill. Just run to the side to avoid getting hit by the enemy.

    State of the Golden Flame

The boss enters the Golden Flame form, gaining a fire Noelle: Protector that grants immunity to all damage. This mode lasts for 45 seconds, but breaking the shield will cause Holawaka Ngubu to exit this state early.

After the transformation, the dragon flies into the sky, so it will no longer be possible to hit it with melee attacks. In this form, it will fire 2 volleys of fiery homing feathers that deal Pyro damage. Then it will release a 3rd huge feather that deals increased explosive damage.

This feather will remain hovering above the ground, and you can destroy it with elemental reactions. The dragon will always dive towards the feather to pick it up. If it is destroyed, the saurian will continue to fly near the ground, allowing you to damage it in melee. Otherwise, it will perform an explosive attack and take off again.

Let's add that the fastest way to destroy the Tyrant Kukusaur's fire Noelle: Protector is with Hydro attacks. Next in effectiveness are Electro attacks. The Hurdle is destroyed the slowest by Anemo, Geo, Dendro and Cryo attacks.

How to defeat Golden Flame Tyrant Kukusaur

    Preparing for battle

Before the battle begins, you can eat dishes that increase attack power, critical damage, and critical hit chance. It would be a good idea to drink potions that increase certain elemental damage to strengthen your damage dealers. In this case, the following will be useful:

    • Streaming Essential Oil – Increases Hydro damage by 25% for 5 minutes.
    • Forest Essential Oil – Increases Dendro's damage by 25% for 5 minutes.
    • Frosting Essential Oil – Increases Cryo damage by 25% for 5 minutes.
    • Shocking Essential Oil – Increases Electro damage by 25% for 5 minutes.
    • Unmoving Essential Oil – Increases Geo damage by 25% for 5 minutes.

The boss also mainly deals Pyro damage, so we recommend you take a Heatshield Potion, which increases resistance to Pyro damage by 25% for 300 seconds.

    Combat strategy

Everything is quite simple here. At the beginning of the battle, try to stand behind the enemy, dealing damage to him and avoiding his attacks. We do not advise you to try to deal damage by any means - it is better to run away from him when you see that he is ready to perform an attack on the area, since this enemy deals huge damage, or put a strong Noelle: Protector on yourself in advance.

Soon, Holawaka Ngubu will transform into a golden dragon and fly into the sky. If you have an archer, switch to him and try to launch several charged arrows at him to deal elemental damage. However, doing this is dangerous, as the boss will launch homing projectiles at you.

After two volleys, he will release one large feather at you, which will not disappear after landing on the ground. Start attacking it with elemental attacks to destroy it. If you are not sure that you will have time to destroy it, then try to run away from it in time, as the boss will soon fly to it and cause a powerful explosion.

If you manage to destroy the feather, the boss will remain hovering above the ground. At this point, attack him with elemental attacks to quickly destroy his Noelle: Protector. In this case, you will prematurely take him out of the phoenix state, and he will fall to the ground, where you can safely finish him off.

Note that after 45 seconds (about 3 cycles of throwing the big feather to the ground), he will exit the Golden Flame state and fall to the ground. So you can completely ignore him in Phoenix mode, just dodging his projectiles. However, the battle will be significantly longer in this case.

    Golden Flame Tyrant Kukusaur Achievements

During the battle with this boss, you can only get one trophy. Below we will tell you what you need to do to open it.

Black Arrow of the Saurian Hunter

To unlock this achievement, you just need to follow the strategy above, i.e. wait for the boss to enter the Golden Flame state, and then quickly knock down his Noelle: Protector (before 45 seconds are up) with any elemental attacks (Hydro strikes work the fastest). For unlocking the achievement, you get 5 Primogems.

Rewards for defeating Golden Flame Tyrant Kukusaur

For destroying this dragon you will receive Companionship EXP, mora, adventure points and various materials, which are mainly needed to develop Pyro heroes. The higher the enemy level, the better the reward will be:

    • Agate Shards Agnidus (level 20+)
    • Agate Fragments Agnidus (level 40+)
    • Agate Chunks Agnidus Agate (Level 60+)
    • Agnidus Agate Gemstone (level 75+)
    • Mark of the Binding Blessing (Level 30+) – Required for Ascension Mualani.

In addition to everything else, this giant saurian drops various sets of artifacts, namely:

    • Adventurer (3 stars)
    • Instructor (3-4 stars)
    • Berserker (3-4 stars)
    • Gladiator’s Finale (4-5 stars)
    • Wanderer’s Troupe (4-5 stars)

We hope that our guide to Golden Flame Tyrant Kukusaur in Genshin Impact will help you find and destroy this boss, learning in advance about the strategy of fighting him and preparing the optimal team for the battle.
