How to start the Octave of the Maushiro quest
First of all, you will need to complete the quest "A Particularly Particular Author". Then the next calendar day, Paimon will want to know how Sumida is doing, and you should have a new task in the diary.
Go to the capital of the archipelago again and talk to the girl. We decide to help her solve the mystery of Tsurumi Island and the disappearing musical instrument.
How to remove fog the next day
The island will again be covered in fog. Teleport to the statue of the seven Archons. Then follow the quest marker and go through the stone Achievement: Gate again to remove the fog from the map of the island. Chat with Ru again. He will tell you about the Maushiro and the thunder bird. We recall that during the quest "Seirai Stormchasers" we found Peculiar Pinion.
This is a new tool that will appear in your inventory in the appropriate section. Also study the entry in the "Training" menu. You will learn that with this unusual feather you can reveal various secrets on Tsurumi Island.
How to use Peculiar Pinion
So, follow Roo to the thunderbird statue. Enter "Tools" in inventory and put on the new gadget. Now press the "Z" key (by default) to activate the Peculiar Pinion next to the stone figure.
An illusion of Kama will appear. Apparently, this feather works in the same way as the Memento Lens. Head to the place where the boatman buried something and dig up the Maushiro. Next, head to the place of the ritual.
Here you have to eavesdrop on the conversations of local residents. To do this, you just need to chat with 3 pairs of children. You will find out that Roo has disappeared somewhere. You will need to find it by visiting 3 locations, where various puzzles will be waiting for you.
Find clues with the Strange Feather

Get to the quest marker, and then go to the thunderbird statue and activate the feather. Chat with illusions. Next, you will need to tackle the puzzle with the stones. To do this, you need to find a clue near the cobblestones and touch them in a certain order.
Approach the second thunder statue and use the feather to make the Electro Fairy appear. Run after her to the left side and climb onto the column. Then she will turn towards the shore and stop near the chest with the barrier. Then it will hang near the branches of a small tree, and then lead you to another bird statue. Use the pen again to see the correct order to activate the stones.
Go back to the cobblestones and hit them in the right order. If you are too lazy to understand, then the picture below shows the correct order. If you did everything right, then new illusions will arise. Talk to them again and move to the next location.
Oia Beach: where to move the stones
Approach the next stone figure and apply Peculiar Pinion. Then chat with the illusions. Next, you will need to move the stones in such a way that the symbols on them correspond to the signs on the plates on the ground.
The screenshots below show exactly where to move the cobblestones. We also showed how the finished solution looks like - all the runes on the stones should light up. After that, listen to the next conversation, and then head to the next location.
Autake Plains: Find the missing stones
In this area, you will find thick fog. It not only makes it difficult to navigate the area, but can also return you to the beginning of the search area if you wake up in it for too long or forget to activate Tsurumi Island Thunder Stones, which are kind of "lamps".
Note: The cloud icon next to the mini-map indicates that you will soon get lost in the fog.
To activate the thunderstones, you need to hit them with an Electro attack ( the Traveler is also suitable). Just move from one "lantern" to another, going to the area marked on the map. Then use the Peculiar Pinion on the bird and chat with the illusions. The boy will run away into the fog, so you will have to go to another indicated area, lighting the "lanterns" along the way. At the end, use the feather on the statue again.
3 fairies will appear and help you find the missing stones. Follow the first fairy, remembering to light the thunderstones so you don't get lost in the mist. It will hover right over the stone you need. Take the Autake Slate and take it to the place where the spirits originated. Then do the same two more times. The screenshots below show the location of the stones.
Note: In one of the places you will encounter the Guardian of the Ruins. We advise you to kill him, otherwise he will pursue you throughout the area.
When you find all 3 stones, go to the location of the fairies and insert them into the cells. You will see symbols on the column in a certain order - it is in this sequence that you need to hit the stones nearby (the screenshot below shows the solution). Next, chat with the illusions.
Return to the ceremony site. There will be no one here. But you have a musical instrument, so return to Sumida and give her Maushiro. Fortunately, this time it won't disappear.
This completes the quest, and as a reward you will receive 450 adventure points, 50,000 pestilence, 50 source stones, 5 hero experience and 4 magical enhancement ore. However, a new quest will soon be available to you "The Sea of Fog and the Rite of the Trees".
