    In Dragon's Dogma 2 A Trial of Archery is a side quest in which you will have to help Glyndra rescue his sister Dorian from the clutches of an ogre. To do this, you first need to get to the Sacred Grove, and then go to the resting place of your ancestors and take the elf out of the cave.     Walkthrough of the A Trial of Archery quest in Dragon's Dogma 2

    First of all you need to complete the quest "Gift to the Archer", in which you meet Glindr and help him get comfortable with using the human bow. Next, wait 1-2 days and head to Roderick's forge in Vernworth to find the blond elf again. Usually he himself enters into dialogue with you and invites you to attend his test with an arrow.

    If you were unable to find Glyndra near the forge, and you have your own housing in the capital, received after completing the task "Home Sweet Home", then try looking for an elf near your estate. Sometimes he just hangs around the city, so it makes sense to run around.

    Note: This time you are not required to have the Archer calling, so you don’t have to change your class. However, we advise you to stock up on awakening stones, since one of the key characters in the quest may die.

    How to attend the Trial of the Arrow and escort Glyndra to the Sacred Grove

    You will have to go to the Mountain Ruins where you previously trained with the elf - just follow the same route as before. At the indicated location, go to the area marked with a yellow circle. To do this, you will need to climb the trunk of a fallen tree. Right next to the camp fire you will find Glyndra. Approach him to start a conversation.

    Next you will have to follow him to get to the elf village. Almost immediately you will be attacked by a group of wolves. Deal with them, and do it as quickly as possible and do not let them run away, as there is a high probability of a chimera appearing from behind. If the monster does come, then you will have to fight it, since the archer will refuse to retreat.

    You can easily spend the night near the fire - the elf will not run away, but will wait next to you. If he dies, then the mission will not be able to continue, so you need to resurrect him using the awakening stone. In general, try to avoid collisions with monsters without getting involved in battles with them, because as soon as you attack the enemy, Glindr will immediately join the fight, and he will not obey your orders to retreat.

    Continue following the elf, crossing the bridge past the ogre, and then climb up the wooden platform and enter the dense forest. Soon you will find yourself near the border checkpoint. Glindr will stop you and then talk to the guards ahead to let you through. Congratulations - you have reached the Sacred Grove.

    Note: In this settlement, the locals speak Elvish, so to understand their speech you need a special skill that you can teach your pawn (or find a companion with the corresponding skill). However, as part of this quest you will understand the elves, since Glindr will act as your translator. We advise you to take advantage of this to buy equipment (they sell excellent bows for ordinary and magical archers here) or to sleep at the hotel.

    Next, head to the house of the Tree Priest, located in the western part of the village. When you go inside, a cutscene will begin, from which you will learn that your friend's sister was kidnapped by an ogre. Taliesin will prohibit Glindr from participating in the mission to rescue the girl, since he failed the test. However, this will not stop the young man.

    Note: Despite the seriousness of the situation, this quest is not limited in time, so in theory you don’t have to run straight to the cave, but take a break at the hotel and buy the necessary items.

    How to find an ogre at the resting place of your ancestors

    Fortunately, the resting place of the ancestors is located relatively close to the Sacred Grove. Just run east to the tree bridge, go down the wooden platform, jump off the ledge and turn right. Eventually you will come to a cave entrance. The exact location is shown in the images below.

    Go into the dungeon and start moving forward, dealing with monsters along the way. Deal with them as quickly as possible so that they do not have time to kill Glyndra. Once up, you will find yourself in a semi-open area with ruins and trees. Go down to the columns, deal with the wolves and go under the stone bridge.

    Next, turn left and enter the passage. Run forward and upward along the tunnel to trigger a cut-scene. In it you will be shown how the ogre holds Doriana in his hands. The elf will say that he will shoot at the monster so that it will let his sister go, and will ask you to immediately grab the girl and take her to a safe place.

    How to remove Dorian from the resting place of her ancestors

    You can fight the ogre or grab the girl lying on the ground unconscious and simply carry her out of the cave, but in the latter case you will have to go all the way back and fight a group of enemies at the end. For this reason, we advise you to still stay and fight the boss.

    However, if you do not want Dorian to get hurt, then you need to at least take her away from the battlefield - to do this, pick her up (RT button), take her out of the stone gazebo and put her on the ground. If you have women in the group, then you can simply wait until the ogre grabs one of them and runs away from the first place of battle.

    Next, try to knock the ogre down and start hitting him with a heavy attack (Y) on the head to deal maximum damage. Having dealt with the boss, pick up the elf again and start walking with her towards the exit. However, in this case you won’t have to walk much, since in half a minute Glindr will discover a secret passage, and you will automatically find yourself on the surface.

    Note: If Dorian dies during the quest, then resurrect her using the awakening stone. However, you will complete the task even if the girl dies, and the reward will remain the same. But you will block your access to the next couple of secondary missions.

    Once outside, chat with Glindr, and then with Taliesin. This will bring the task to an end. As a reward, you will receive 2800 experience points, 16 thousand gold, a Reflective Bow and a Return Crystal (portable teleportation point).

    Next, wait 1-2 days and talk to Dorian in the Sacred Grove to receive a new quest from her, with Taliesin, in order to again accompany him to the resting place of his ancestors and kill the monster (if you have not defeated the ogre) and Glyndr (you will find him near your home in Vernworth) to perform a small escort task. The elf’s father, by the way, when you talk again, will give you the ultimate move for an archer.
