Redemption in the Rock Quarry in Zenless Zone Zero — a special order in which you, Appon and Plantain will go to the mines to find a flint for an important customer. In the guide, we will tell you how to complete the quest, modify the hammer to explore the mine and get the achievement "Escape in style with fireworks".
Walkthrough of the quest Redemption in the Rock Quarry
How to start
The order becomes available after completing the quest "A Cry for Help from afar" and the accompanying combat order "Wild Pursuit". To start this quest, make sure you have completed Chapter 4 of the story "Inferno Cross", then go down to the lower level in Blazewood and talk to Banbu Plantain standing near the stairs.
If you can't find it, try rescuing a wandering banba in roughly the same location, then change the time to morning/afternoon/evening of the next day.
Together with Plantain, go into the cavern and save his owner, Appon.
After completing Wild Chase, return to the lower level and speak with Appon to complete the first task.
Then rewind to the next day and talk to Plantain again - this time he'll be standing a little further away, next to the 747 minimarket. Appon will ask you to go with him to the cavern and return the Tinderbox, which the guy was supposed to give to his customer.
Accept the order and head to the HDD. There are no enemies in the order, so you will immediately begin exploring the cavern.
Save the Banbu Miner
Once in the cavern, head down and help the Banbu Miner. For your help, he will give you a chipper - a tool for breaking down obstacles. You can give it to any of your Banbu.
You won't be able to get back, so you'll have to break through the rock. Destroying one cell takes away 1% of the chipper's charge. To get rid of the obstacle, hold down LMB on the desired cell.
Once you've cleared your path and collected 100 sherlings, head right and up to the "Carrot" data.
Talk to Shakhtobu
Your new friend will introduce you to his boss, Shakhtoba. Approach him to learn more about the location of each flint. After that, the store and charging station will become available to you. Charging is free, but at the initial stage it restores only 10% of energy. To fix this, you need to improve the hammer in the store.
Find the flint (1)
Go down, destroy the rocks and collect 100 sherlings.
On a field completely littered with stones, the Fairy will mark the cells with shesterlings. For the first upgrade, you need to accumulate 450 coins, so it is enough to destroy three cells and return to Shakhtob.
If a boost is available, a green droplet will appear on the shop tile.
Go back, grab the remaining shearlings and head out onto the open road.
Below you can read a note from an unknown researcher warning about the danger of traps - they take away the charge from the hammer, so they should be avoided.
In this same area you will find a red button: by pressing it you will summon a minecart that will take you back to the camp. The first time you ride it you will also get some denny.
To return to the mines, you can use the same minecart.
Just below and to the left of the button you will find a second note with a hint. Standing to the right of the note, you will see an arrow on your icon - following these arrows (2 cells down and to the left as far as it will go), you will get to a secret area with many shesterlings and a supply box.
Further down you'll find a second charging station, which will allow you to return to Shakhtob less often.
Going further down, destroy the rocks in front of the moving barrier. Move it to the left and go to the supplies.
Once you reach the flint, collect it and return to Shakhtob on the cart. Give him the flint. Now you can not only increase your energy supply, but also upgrade the chipping drill in the store for free. Next, you will unlock the ability to increase the jump distance: the upgraded chipping drill can drill several cells at once in the direction you choose, and this modification allows you to destroy more stones at once.
Find the flint (2)
Return to the depths on the minecart. In the nearby cells you can find shesterlings, first batch of observation data and another note.
Traps are hidden in the cells with red markings, so you shouldn't open them. The markings may not appear immediately, but when you are near the cell, so don't rush to destroy everything.
Below you'll find a charging station and another path to the sherlings and supplies.
There will be another mine cart on the right side of the field.
Go a little further down and you'll find a second flint and supplies. Return to Shakhtob on the minecart, give him the flint and modify the chipping drill.
Find the flint (3)
Return to the depths on the minecart. Collect second packet of observation data and read the note.
Further on there is another minecart and a lock, the key to which is located directly below it.
In the secret room you will find a charging station, gearlings, supplies and another note. Take the tools and improve your hammer.
Now you can blow up any cages with traps painlessly. Moreover, to get a hidden achievement you need to blow up 10 bombs, so we advise you to actively use this function. As you move further into the mine, you will start to find cells with denny.
Once you reach the narrow road, continue blasting rocks to create a path. This will take you to the third flint, which will contain supplies and a minecart.
Take everything and go to Shakhtob. Give him the jackhammer and tools.
Leave the cavern
Take it away third data packet and head towards the exit.
Wait for the customer to arrive
Return to Blazewood and talk to Appon. His client will be Caesar. Chat with them to complete the quest.
