How to fix UE4 Client Crashed error in Wuthering Waves
You can sequentially try all the methods for solving the bug described below until one of them works for you, or step through some methods and use the method that seems most suitable to you for your situation.
Check the integrity of game files
Before you try to change the settings of your system or the game itself, we advise you to simply make sure that all VUV files are intact. To do this, launch its launcher, and then click on the wrench icon. Agree to the verification by clicking on the “Confirm” button. Then wait for the process to complete.
If damaged files are detected, the installer itself will download the necessary resources and reinstall them. Then try running Wuthering Waves again.
Run the .exe file of the game in the root folder
If the previous method did not work and you are using the version from Epic Games, then we advise you to open the folder where the game is installed (usually the path to it looks like this: “...\Program Files\Epic Games\WutheringWavesj3oFh\Wuthering Waves Game”), and then run Wuthering Waves.exe.
This way you bypass the Epic launcher, which minimizes the occurrence of errors. To avoid constantly going into this folder, simply create a shortcut to the specified file by right-clicking on it and selecting the “Create shortcut” option, and transfer it to your desktop.
Disable full screen optimization and run as administrator
If the previous method did not help, then return to the root folder, right-click on Wuthering Waves.exe, select “Properties”, and then go to the “Compatibility” tab. Here, find the following two options and check the box next to them:
- Disable full screen optimization.
- Run this program as administrator.
Then click on the “Apply” and “OK” button. Restart the Epic Games launcher and launch the game using the Wuthering Waves.exe file or the shortcut you created earlier.
Reduce screen scaling
Open Settings via Start, go to System and go to the Display tab. Here, find the “Scale and Layout” section, which has an option to “Change the size of text, apps, and more.” Select the minimum value, for example 100%.
Restart the Epic Games launcher again and try to launch the game using the Wuthering Waves.exe file or the shortcut you created earlier.
Use Compatibility Mode
This method should also work for those who do not use Epic Games Launcher. Again, go to the folder with the Wuthering Waves.exe file, right-click on it, select “Properties”, and then go to the “Compatibility” tab. Here, check the box next to “Run this program in compatibility mode for:”, and then select “Windows 8”.
Next, click on the “Apply” and “Ok” button. Restart the Epic Games or Kuro Games launcher and launch the game using the Wuthering Waves.exe file or the shortcut you created earlier.
Update your Microsoft Visual C++ program

Run Wuthering Waves in DirectX 11 mode
If the above methods did not work, then install Steam if you don’t have it, and then log into it and go to the “Library” section. Click on the “Add a game” button in the lower left corner of the screen, and then select the “Add a third-party game” option.
Wait for the list of games installed on your computer to load and click on “Search”, open the root folder of the game and take the file there Wuthering Waves.exe. Then go to the \Client\ Binaries\Win64 folder and select the file Client-Win64-Shipping.exe. Check the boxes for the specified files in the list and click on the “Add selected” button.

Open Windows Settings via Start, and then go to the Update & Security category. Go to the Windows Security tab and find the App and Browser Control option. Click on it, and then click on “Exploit Protection Settings.”
A new menu will open. In the System Settings section, find the Control Flow Guard (CFG) option and set it to Off. default". Now restart your computer and try starting the game again.
Increase the virtual memory page file
In the Start search bar, type “sysdm.cpl” and open this file. In the new window, go to the “Advanced” section and click on “Options” in the “Performance” category. Go to the “Advanced” section again and click on the “Change” button under the “Virtual memory” label.
Then click on "Specify Size" and enter values (selected based on the amount of RAM you have; the second image below shows the recommended values) for "Original Size" and "Maximum Size". Then click on “Ok” and confirm the changes in all previously opened windows.
