Genshin Impact 4.4 release date
HoYoverse typically releases updates every 6 weeks, so the next patch should be released soon January 31, 2024. It will be replaced by version 4.5 around March 13th next year.
You can preload the client a few days before its release. The developers will probably carry out technical work, which can last up to 5 hours. Players are usually given compensation in the amount of 300-600 source stones.
Live broadcast on Genshin Impact 4.4
The development team almost always holds special streams 1.5-2 weeks before the release of a new update. They usually take place on Friday-Sunday. For this reason, the live broadcast of version 4.4 must take place January 19, 2024 at 15:00 Moscow time. During it will be placed three promotional code for 300 primogems.
New characters and banners
The miHoYo team has not yet officially introduced new characters for the game. However, insiders shared relevant information. They also talked about future banners and the abilities of the new heroes.
First phase banners
Informants suggest that in the first half of the patch the following fighters will be presented in banners:
- 5-star – Custodian of Clouds (Anemo, catalyst) and Xiao (Anemo, spear).
- 4-star – unknown yet.
The Custodian of Clouds is one of the adherents of Liyue, who lives in the Beyond the Clouds. The players had already met her many times, but she appeared to them in the form of a crane. According to rumors, her in-game name will be Xianyun, and in the squad she will be able to play the role of the main damage dealer (with C6 open) or support for Anemo damage dealers.
As for the weapon banner, you should expect the appearance of the Primordial Jade Winged-Spear (signature of Xiao) and the catalyst in the form of a fan (signature of the Guardian of the Clouds).
Second phase banners
In the second half of the update (starts on February 21), the following fighters will most likely undergo reruns:
- 5-star – Shenhe (Cryo, polearm) and Ganyu (Cryo, Onion).
- 4-star – lion boy (Piro, ?).
Several facts hint at the rerun of these characters. Firstly, many players have been waiting for them for quite some time. Secondly, the main event storyline will be connected to them. Thirdly, new skins are being prepared for them.
Rumors about the lion boy began to appear more than six months ago, however, there is still very little information about him. It is not even known what his name is; What is clear is that he comes from Liyue. Recently, a drawing was leaked that may depict the said character. It suggests that this guy is using Pyro of the God's Eye. His stance shows that he fights hand to hand. It is possible that his fighting style is similar to that used by Wriothesley and Shikanoin Heizou (both use a catalyst).
In “The Incarnation of a Deity” you will be able to obtain the Calamity Queller spear and Amos’ Bow, which are the signature weapons of Shenhe and Ganyu respectively.
New locations
Insiders report that in the said update, the developers will finally add Chenyu Valley, which will expand Liyue in the northwest direction and merge the Geo Kingdom with Fontaine. A map of this area has already appeared on the network, which shows the location of two statues of the Archon.
On the territory of this location there will be a tea village called Qiaoying, in which players will meet many new characters. An art of one such young lady even appeared on the Internet - her name is Fu Jin, and she is the junior deity of Liyue (perhaps we are talking about an adept).
New weapons
So far, only one new weapon is known - we are talking about a signature catalyst for the Guardian of the Clouds. His stats and passive talent are unknown. It only states that it will look like a brown and gold Kamisato Ayaka: Folding Fan with light blue clouds on it.
New skins
According to available data, as part of patch 4.4, three heroes will be allowed to try on new looks: Ganyu, Shenhe and Xingqiu. The skin for the last character can be obtained completely free of charge when completing the main event tests.
It is noted that all skins will have epic rarity, that is, they will not change the animations of attacks and character stances. The developers will make them in the Chinese style in honor of the Sea Lantern Festival. The pictures above show blurry images of the two skins.
New tasks
There will most likely be no new Archon quests, since Fontaine's arc is completed, and Harlequin's arc will be continued in patch 4.6, where she will become a playable character. However, the team may release a new interim Thoma chapter related to Chenyu Valley.
Legend Quests
Most likely, the Custodian of Clouds will receive a personal quest, in which players will be shown why the adept decided to change her crane form to a human. The Lion Boy may be presented as part of the new Meeting.
However, it is possible that both characters will appear only in the storyline of the main event and nowhere else.
World Quests
Naturally, the developers will add new side quests. Their events are likely to unfold in the tea valley.

Lantern Rite
HoYoverse, as usual, is planning a new festival at the beginning of the year to celebrate the Chinese New Year. In addition to its own quests, which will feature Shenhe and Ganyu, it will include various mini-games.
The heroines, by the way, will be shown in new costumes. Players will also be able to get a free 4-star character from Liyue and a skin for Xingqiu.
