In Hogwarts Legacy the player is regularly faced with role-playing choices, which, however, rarely change the essence of the events. The lack of a branching system of consequences, characteristic of large-scale RPG projects, is often noted as a drawback of this game that is excellent in many respects. In this article, we'll cover all of the Hogwarts Legacy endings, including the "true" and "Sebastian" endings.

    How to choose an ending

Events that directly affect the choice of ending occur during the mission "Last Vault", where the player fights Ranrok's followers and eventually himself. When the storage of power is discovered, a dialogue will take place with Professor Fig, in which there will be a division into possible finals. It must be understood that an emotional assessment of events is possible only subjectively, so the preferences of the role choice always depend on the player's inclinations, and their division into good and bad is just a tribute to the established terminology.

Note: the ability to travel the world and engage in the remaining gaming activities remains regardless of the chosen scenario.

    Good ending

Conditionally "good" is the ending, in which the player decides to leave the power in the vault and not use it for his ascension. To do this, in a conversation with the teacher, you need to select "I intend to leave the power inside" .

Immediately after that, you can promise to keep this secret forever, or not to take on such significant obligations. This choice will have no effect on the events in the game, so you should proceed from your own considerations of the good.

In this scenario, Professor Fig takes part in the final battle and dies, thanking the player for their choice before dying.

    Bad ending

An alternative in dialogue with the professor is to choose a "selfish" ending, where the player is going to use the ancient power for their own purposes. This corresponds to the threads of the conversation: "I'm going to open it" , then "Such power cannot be hidden from the rest of the world" . At the same time, the protagonist will still nominally declare the good intentions of using powerful energy.

After that, the same final fight will take place, just without the participation of a mentor who refuses to help the player. However, Professor Fig will die in this case too, so it will not be possible to save the teacher.

    Sebastian's ending

In the dialogue that takes place after the end of the final battle with Ranrok, the player may be met by Ominis or Sebastian. The possibility of this branching is due to the choice that the player can make when completing the quest "In the Shadow of Destiny".

Note: if this task has not yet been completed by the time the plot ends, then Sebastian himself will take part in the dialogue.

Sebastian Sallow is an interesting and controversial character whose story is revealed in several story and additional missions. Some of them we considered in the material on Unforgivable Curses in Hogwarts Legacy. The last quest in his quest chain actually decides the boy's fate:

    • If Sebastian is given away, he will be expelled from Hogwarts and Ominis Gaunt will take his place in the final scene;
    • If you decide to keep Sebastian's act a secret, you can personally talk about the role of Victor Rookwood in the death of his sister.

Thus, it is possible to separate the conditional “good” and “bad” endings also depending on the student who takes part in the final dialogue.

    True ending (secret)

After making their choice in the Last Vault quest, the player can continue learning and gaining experience. Reaching level 34 unlocks additional events that are inherent in the end of any school year in the school of witchcraft and wizardry, namely: a festive feast and OWL exams. You will be able to enjoy several cut-scenes, and at the end of the holiday, the faculty with the most points at the end of the year will be announced. It is easy to guess that the faction chosen by the player will win.

This ending is not an alternative to the above, but, as in Rowling's books, the adventure ends only with the onset of the holidays, and solving even global problems is not a reason to take a break from classes.
