Icewind Suite in Genshin Impact: How to Find and Defeat

    Zorthrus

In Genshin Impact The Icewind Suite is a special automaton and elite boss, added to the game With You the release of update 4.0. It drops spare parts of the wonderful mechanism: Coppelia and Coppelius, which are required for the exaltation of certain characters. In this guide, you can find out where you can find this enemy, which team should be prepared to fight him, and how to defeat him the fastest.

Where to find Ice Wind Suite

This boss does not require any additional conditions to be unlocked, so you can essentially access it immediately after completing the Archon quest "Song of the Dragon and Freedom". However, we still advise you to start with Fontaine's quest chain.

So first of all get to Fontaine by choosing one of the two possible ways. Then you will need to get to the eastern peninsula, where the Epikles Opera House is located. You will go there when completing the story mission "Prelude of white dews and black waves". If you have not yet taken on this task, then simply swim to the indicated area or call the aquabus: to do this, go to the lift in the capital of the region, select "Floor 3: Navia Line", and then wait for the vehicle near the shop.

Once on Eriny, run to Fountain Lucin, and then turn right and move on until you see the arena with the desired boss. To start a battle with him, you must first talk with Mairde, who is standing near the movie camera.

    Ice Wind Suite Respawn

After you deal with this boss, it will respawn in about 3-5 minutes - you need to teleport to another area or re-enter the game for the automaton boss to reappear. Remember also that in order to collect rewards, you will have to spend 40 units from it primordial resin.

    Ice Wind Suite stats

Even in the normal state, this opponent has 70% resistance to Cryo and Anemo, but to other types of damage (including physical), its resistance is only 10%. All this imposes certain restrictions on the selection of characters to fight this boss.

If we talk about the combat parameters of this mechanical creature, then in terms of health it surpasses such bosses as Setekh Wenut or Iniquitous Baptist, but inferior to them in attack power, and significantly. For example, at level 90, his base HP is 557 thousand units (the baptist has only 371 thousand), and ATK is 9.5 thousand units (the baptist has 15.2 thousand). You can see all the characteristics of the enemy in the image below (2P, 3P and 4P show the parameters when playing in co-op).

    Choice of repertoire (boss)

Speak with Mek Engineer Mird in the northern area of the Epiclesis Opera House. Next, you will need to choose one of two combat challenges:

    • Burial of Coppelia - allows you to get a Spare Part of the wonderful mechanism: Coppelia.
    • Coppelius' Retribution - allows you to get a Spare Part of the Weird Gear: Coppelius.

Your choice will affect not only the reward given out, but also the boss's fighting style. In the first case, the leading role will be played by the girl Coppelius with ousii energy, which will require an attack with pneuma to overload, and in the second case, the aristocrat Coppelius with pneuma energy, which will require a blow with ousii to overload.

    Hero Selection Tips

Given the large health bar and low attack power of the boss, we advise you to focus more on the damage of your squad than on its survivability, so one shielder or healer, and not necessarily well pumped, can be completely dispensed with.

Primary and secondary damage dealers must be Electro, Pyro, Dendro, Hydro and/or Geo. You can also try to collect a pack for physical damage, but often the main-DD / sub-DD in them relate to the Cryo element, so their abilities will be practically useless against the boss (with the exception of Freminet).

As for supports, they can be of any element, since their main task will be to increase the elemental damage of damage dealers, that is, they will still attack the enemy infrequently. This also applies to shieldmen and healers.

In addition, we highly recommend that you take characters that can perform ousia and pneuma attacks (depending on the repertoire you choose). It's about the Traveler and the heroes from Fontaine. Thus, you can constantly reboot the boss, significantly weakening it.

    Optimal Teams

Based on the above information, we have prepared some of the most suitable units that will be the easiest for you to deal with the Frostwind Suite. Choose depending on what kind of energy you need (pneuma or ousia). They are shown in the table below.

Attacks and Moves of the Ice Wind Suite

Depending on the selected repertoire, the attacks of the boss will change slightly. This will also affect what type of damage they will mainly deal: Anemo or Cryo. Next, consider all the movements for both versions.

    Burial of Coppelia

    double rotation

Both puppets spin their punches, dealing Anemo and Cryo damage. These are melee attacks that are easy to dodge by simply jumping back.

    ice circle

Coppelius picks up his partner and starts spinning her, causing Coppélia to deal Cryo damage in an area, leaving a trail of ice in her wake. Soon after, the ice explodes, dealing additional Cryo damage in an area.

    ice bloom

Coppelius raises his cane and then slams it into the ground, creating an ice field in the direction of the character, dealing AoE damage to Cryo. It is enough to simply jump to the side so as not to receive damage.

    Ice projectiles

Coppelius raises his cane and then makes a circular motion, releasing many icicles at the character, dealing Cryo damage.

    Culmination of Coppelia

When the opponent has a little less than 50% left, both puppets will move to the center of the arena and their movements will change. Three whirlwinds will appear on the scene, which will slowly move clockwise, constantly pushing the hero to the center and dealing damage to Anemo in an area. In case of contact with the blade of Coppelius, they will receive a Cryo effect.

At the same time, Coppelia begins to perform the following sequence of attacks, dealing damage to Anemo:

    1. Two blows with a fan.
    2. Air shock wave.
    3. Two blows with a fan.
    4. Two air shock waves.

Coppelius, on the other hand, will begin to perform the following sequence of attacks, dealing Cryo damage:

    1. Two swings of the cane.
    2. Makes a small circle, dealing damage to all characters in its path, and then heads to the edge of the arena.
    3. Fires 2 ice blades at the character.
    4. It makes a full circle around the arena, dealing damage to all characters in its path, and then returns to its partner.

Enemies will repeat these sequences three times if the player does not interrupt the climax. In addition, their resistance to all types of damage will increase by 25%.

    Retribution Coppelius

    double rotation

Both puppets spin their punches, dealing Anemo and Cryo damage. These are melee attacks that are easy to dodge by simply jumping back.

    death spiral

Coppelius starts spinning Coppélia around him, dealing Anemo damage in a small area. You just need to bounce off the enemies.

    Jump kick

Coppelius spins his partner and then throws her into the air. Upon landing, Coppelia deals AoE damage to Anemo.

    air projectiles

Coppelia fires three Anemo projectiles that fly in different directions. One of them will definitely be directed at the character. Do not make too many dashes to the side, otherwise you will fall under the second projectile.

    Climax of Coppelius

When the opponent has a little less than 50% left, both puppets will move to the center of the arena and their movements will change. Three Frost Hearts of Retribution will spawn on the scene, periodically exploding, dealing AoE damage to Cryo.

Coppelius will receive a Cryo Noelle: Protector, which is easier to destroy with Pyro's attacks. You can also use Electro, Geo and Anemo strikes (listed in order of decreasing effectiveness). It also falls off instantly when hit with Ushii's energy.

At the same time, Coppelia begins to perform the following sequence of attacks, dealing damage to Anemo:

    1. Fires 3 wind blades at the character.
    2. It begins to rotate rapidly, and then returns to Coppelius.

Coppelius, on the other hand, will begin to perform the following sequence of attacks, dealing Cryo damage:

    1. He waves his cloak three times.
    2. He starts swinging his cane, makes a small circle, and then swings his cloak again.

Enemies will repeat these sequences three times if the player does not interrupt the climax.

How to beat the Ice Wind Suite

    Preparing for battle

Before the start of the battle, you can eat dishes, which increase attack power, critical damage, and critical hit chance. It will be useful to drink potions that increase certain elemental damage in order to strengthen your damage dealers. In this case, it will be useful:

    • Streaming Essential Oil - Increases Hydro damage by 25% for 5 minutes.
    • Flaming Essential Oil - Increases Pyro damage by 25% for 5 minutes.
    • Forest Essential Oil - Increases Dendro's damage by 25% for 5 minutes.
    • Shocking Essential Oil - Increases Electro damage by 25% for 5 minutes.
    • Unmoving Essential Oil - Increases Geo damage by 25% for 5 minutes.

The boss also deals mainly Anemo and Cryo damage, so we recommend you take Windbarrier Potion and Frostshield Potion, which increase resistance to Anemo and Cryo respectively by 25% for 300 seconds.

    Combat strategy

In general, the tactics of fighting this boss until the climax stage is quite simple - you need to dodge his attacks and constantly deal elemental damage to him, to which he has poor resistance. If you have a good shielder, there will be no problems at all, since he will be able to absorb most enemy attacks.

When the climax comes, your actions will depend on the chosen repertoire. In Coppelia's Burial, you need to select a character with Pneuma energy (for example, Lyney or Hydro Traveler) and attack the enemy three times with it to interrupt the performance of the dolls: their resistance bonus will decrease and they will be stunned for a short period of time.

In Coppelius Retribution, you need to select a hero with Ushii energy (for example, Lynette) and attack the boss three times with it to interrupt the performance of the puppets: you will instantly destroy the Noelle: Protector of the aristocrat and stun both puppets for a short period of time.

However, if your damage dealers are strong enough, and you have a good shield and/or Traveling Doctor on your team, then you can skip the pneumonic energy and just keep attacking Frostwind Suite even when it's in climax mode.

    Ice Wind Suite Achievements

During the battle with this boss, you can get three trophies at once. Next, we will tell you what you need to do to open them.

    The great power of science!

You will need to complete one of the co-op boss challenges. For unlocking achievements, they give 10 source stones.

    Funerary Storm

Take a character with Pneuma energy to the squad (Hydro Traveler will do), select the Coppelia Burial repertoire, and then wait for the climax. Then switch to a character with Pneuma and hit the boss with an elemental skill for an achievement. For unlocking the trophy, you get 5 source stones.

    Icebound Oath

Take a character with Ushii energy ( Lynette will do), select the Coppelius Retribution repertoire, and then wait for the climax. Then switch to the Ushii character and hit the Noble with the Cryo Shield with an elemental skill to get the achievement. For unlocking the trophy, you get 5 source stones.

Rewards for defeating the Ice Wind Suite
