Romance with Lae'zel in Baldur's Gate 3: how to start and see all scenes

    Zorthrus

In Baldur's Gate 3 an affair with Lae'zel is one of the possible love branches present in the game. To start it and see all the possible bed scenes with a harsh githyanka, you have to improve relations with her and choose the right answers during the dialogues. In this guide, we will tell you in detail how to build a romantic relationship with this character.

    Where to find Lae'zel

You can meet her at the very beginning of the game, right after waking up. Just go ahead following the quest marker. Soon you will exit the ship outside, where you will encounter a githyanka as part of a short cutscene. She will immediately join your team, but not for long.

After the wreck of the ship, you will again need to find the girl. Move north, passing next to the "scraps" of the ship, and go along the bridge to the other side. Then turn right, reach the blue cart and turn right again. Ahead in a cage you will find Laezel (X: 244, Y: 370). Convince the tieflings to leave or deal with them.

Then take the bow and shoot the bottom hatch by the cage to free the girl (you can also throw a dagger or hatchet). After that, talk to her and join your group.

How to improve your relationship with Laezel

Before you can take on the development of a romantic relationship, you will need to advance a little in the story. In addition, it is extremely important to try to make those decisions that will lead to approval from Laezel. When exploring the world and gatherings in the camp, there will be many moments that can affect her opinion of you. If you don't have a good relationship with her, she won't show any interest in you when it matters.

Approval in Baldur's Gate 3 is the most important aspect when it comes to romantic relationships with characters. Regardless of who you're planning to romance with, the first thing you need to do is befriend him so that he generally approves of your actions.

Laezel, like all other possible companions, has a distinct personality and worldview, so there are things that she approves of and those that she does not like. So as long as you can keep your character looking like a githyanki, getting her approval should be relatively easy.

Luckily, Laezel can be considered one of the easiest companions to understand when it comes to getting her approval. She is neither good nor evil, but she is closer to the dark side due to the nature and principles of her people. She strives to show her superiority over others, and is not afraid to resort to cruelty for this. This militant woman treats weak and cowardly individuals with contempt.

We will not detail all the actions that Laezel approves or disapproves of (you can find them in our separate material on companions ), and we will indicate the general things that she likes or dislikes.

    What does Laezel approve of:

    • When you agree with her opinion.
    • Positive attitude towards githyanki.
    • Demonstrate your power in front of others.
    • Aggressive and ruthless actions towards their enemies.

    What Laezel disapproves of:

    • Don't agree with her opinion.
    • Take the side of the weak.
    • Use non-violent ways to resolve conflicts (maybe intimidation does not count).
    • Negative attitude towards githyanki.

Simply put, Laezelle is a born warrior who considers death by the blade to be a good end to his life. Therefore, try to solve all problems with your fists and then you will certainly win the favor of this young lady. Plus, she doesn't like to compromise, so try to always agree with her opinion.

Note: You should also know that Laezel's beliefs are diametrically opposed to those of Shadowheart, so conflicts and even fights often break out between them. As a rule, the approval of one of them leads to the disapproval of the other. So be careful when trying to keep both girls in the squad.

How to start and develop a romance with Laezel

    Act 1

After completing the main story quest "Save the Druid Halsin" and the side quest "Save the Refugees", you can have a party at your camp at the end of the day by choosing a long rest. When everyone is celebrating, talk to Laezelle and choose the following dialogue option (it will be available if you have endeared yourself to the githyanka enough):

    • “Are you asking…to share a bed with you?” or yes. I will share a bed with you tonight."

Return to your sleeping bag and interact with it, then decide whether to go to sleep alone or with Laezel. Select the second option to see one of two versions of the love scene (depending on how you respond to her demands; the main thing is not to choose the answer in which the character says he is leaving).

You can see this scene even before the festival, if the approval of the githyanki is at a high enough level. Talk to her in the camp, and then say:

    1. Is it just me, or have you been looking at me in a special way lately?
    2. The attraction is mutual, Laezel. You know how to make my heart beat faster.
    3. Yes. I want to share my body with you.

Then click on the sleeping bag and look at the bed scene. Again, it may differ slightly depending on what you say to your companion.

    Act 2

Note: Further actions are not required to progress the romance with Laezel in Chapter 2, however, they will be needed to continue the romance in Act 3, so be sure to continue her personal quest in the Githyanki Manger and team up with Voss when he offers you his help.

Continue to rest in the camp and, sooner or later (depending on how quickly you manage to get the necessary approval from the girl), a new dialogue with Laezel will start. She will come to you at night and wake you up. Choose any answers other than those where you ask her to leave because you are trying to sleep.

Then she will want to duel with you, and she will not mind if you hurt her. Answer like this:

    • "Let's fight. I'll show you that I'm worth your obsession" or "Ha! Get ready! Prove you are worthy of me."

Then the battle with Laezel will begin, in which you will need to bring her life bar to almost zero. However, it is not necessary to win this battle, especially considering the fact that at a high level of difficulty and when playing for certain classes, it will be problematic to do so. Only the subsequent dialogue will depend on the outcome of the battle, that is, in the end, you will still have a bed scene.

After the fight, Laezel will tell you what belongs to you. You can tell her the following:

    • "You are mine" - the hero gently kisses the githyanka.
    • “Smile and pull Laezel down” or “Is that the mighty Laezel? What a disgrace. You've softened" - the hero will knock the githyanka to the ground, and then give her a passionate kiss.

    Act 3

Important: In order to continue the romantic relationship with Laezel in the third chapter, you need to advance a number of storylines in advance. With the help of Voss, you will have to get the Orphic Hammer from Raphael in order to deal with Vlaakith. This can be done either by making a deal with the devil, or by stealing weapons from him. Also make sure that no one has kidnapped the githyanka, otherwise you will have to save her from Orin first.

After obtaining the Orphic Hammer and reaching the Lower City, choose a long rest in the camp until Vlaakith comes to you at night. She will offer your companion a chance at ascension. Stand next to Laezel and reject the queen's offer by choosing the following answer:

    • Stand your ground. Don't fall for Vlaakith's lies.

After that, Vlaakith will leave. Talk to your companion in the camp and choose love answers. You can ask her for gentle or cruel treatment - in reality it does not affect anything. Laezel will wake you up the next day. Agree to her offer.

The githyanka will want to watch the sunrise with you. You can answer her first remark in any way, and then tell her:

    • I've been waiting for these words for so long. I will stay with you, no matter what happens.

You will take Laezel by the hand and watch the amazingly beautiful sunrise in silence, completely completing the love branch with the githyanka! Now it remains only to reach the final and share the joy of victory with your beloved.

How does Dark Seduction affect the novel?

If you have chosen "Dark Seduction" as your origin, then an important event may occur in the second act. This usually happens if the character didn't kill Isobel and has a lover (in our case, it's Laezelle). The darkness inside the hero will prompt him to kill the chosen one during sleep. To prevent this, follow these steps:

    1. Try to wake your partner and make a Wisdom (14) check.
    2. Once bound, make another Wisdom check (18). You will have a slight advantage because your lover will believe in you.

If you fail to do this, then you are very likely to kill your chosen one. Your team members will be shocked by your uncontrollable madness, so if you fail to trick them, you will have to fight all your former comrades alone. Surviving this fight will not be easy.

In Act 3, you will have the option to accept your fate or be completely free of the Dark Seduction. This takes place after the "Murder Tribunal" and "Orin the Red" arcs. The consequences of your decision for the romance (if Laezel is alive) will look like this:

    • Break free from the Dark Seduction/reject blessings. Laezelle will definitely love that you are finally free of the darkness.
    • Accept your fate by staying with the Dark Seduction. In this case, Laezel will not be able to stay with you (untested).

Is it possible to simultaneously romance other characters?

In the first act, you may well try to maintain a romantic relationship with several characters at the same time, but in the end, you still have to settle for one chosen one / chosen one. If your goal is just to sleep with Laezel, then you can do it already in the first chapter, and then switch to other companions, for example, to Karlach.

At the same time, it will be most difficult to develop a simultaneous romance with Shadowheart and Laezel, as these girls can't stand each other. Between them, a fight may even break out in the camp. So it’s definitely not worth taking them on the same team, otherwise you will constantly receive disapproval from one of the companions.

As for intrigues on the side, Laezel treats them extremely negatively. For example, if you sleep with Mizora, then she will break off relations with you, regardless of what you tell her. So we do not advise you to tempt fate and try not to commit adultery with other characters if you plan to build your future with a githyanka.
