Romancing Wyll in Baldur's Gate 3: how to start and see all scenes

    Zorthrus

In Baldur's Gate 3 an affair with Wyll is one of the possible love branches present in the game. To start it and see all the possible sex scenes with the sorcerer, you have to improve your relationship with him and choose the right answer options during dialogues. In this guide, we will tell you in detail how to build a romantic relationship with this character.

    Where to find Wyll

First, you will need to invite a sorcerer to your team. This can be done already in the first Act. Get to the fork (X: 239, Y: 411), shown in the pictures below, and then turn left to enter the Emerald Grove. Almost immediately a cutscene with druids and tieflings will begin. As part of it, you will see Will for the first time.

Deal with the goblins and go deep into the Emerald Grove. On the wooden platform you will find Will training the children. Talk to him and add him to your group.

How to improve your relationship with Will

Before you can take on the development of a romantic relationship, you will need to progress a little in the story. In addition, it is extremely important to try to make decisions that will lead to Will's approval. While exploring the world and hanging out at camp, there will be many things that can influence his opinion of you. If you don't have a good relationship with him, he won't show any interest in you when it matters.

Approval in Baldur's Gate 3 is the most important aspect when it comes to romance with characters. No matter who you're dating, the first step is to become friends with them so that they generally approve of your actions.

Will, like all other possible companions, has a distinct personality and worldview, so there are things he approves of and things he doesn't like. So as long as you are able to maintain an image of your character that matches the traits of a sorcerer, gaining his approval will be relatively easy.

Like Gail, Will tries to follow the path of light. At the same time, he looks like a classic hero from fairy tales, so some may find it too boring, but he also has his skeletons in the closet. He condemns any atrocities and fiercely fights for what he considers right. Moreover, he is bound by a contract with the devil. Show understanding of his situation to win the sorcerer's favor.

We will not detail all the actions that Will approves or disapproves of (you can find them in our separate material on companions), but we will indicate general things that he likes or dislikes.

    What Gail approves of:

    • Any manifestations of heroism.
    • Help those in need.
    • Resistance to oppressors.
    • Support for his beliefs.
    • Be ruthless towards goblins and devils.

    What Gail doesn't approve of:

    • Attempts to deceive him.
    • Indulgence in one's base desires.
    • Unreasonable acts of violence.
    • Demonstrating a positive attitude towards goblins and devils.
    • The desire to side with Mizora.

Although Will is a good-natured person, he is not without his shortcomings. His story can take different paths depending on how you resolve the situation with Karlach. However, to gain his approval, it is enough to simply play the role of a hero, saving innocents and destroying villains.

How to start and develop a romance with Will

    Act 1

After completing the main story quest "Save the Druid of Halsin" and the side quest "Save the Refugees", you will be able to celebrate in your camp at the end of the day, choosing to take a long rest. When everyone is celebrating, talk to Will. He will look sadder than the rest of your companions. Select the following answer options:

    1. "Are you all right?" or “Well, here we go again! Without you, a holiday is not a holiday.”
    2. “But I’m not afraid, you know” or “But you have very nice horns. I'm even jealous."
    3. “I want to dance with you” or “Can’t you guess why I really followed you?”
    4. [Убеждение] If not a dance, maybe then a kiss?

You will need to pass a Persuasion check (15) for Will to give in and finally kiss you. However, even if you fail, the sorcerer will promise you that there will be another time, that is, you will still remain on the path to starting a romantic relationship with this companion.

Note: A similar conversation can happen much earlier if your approval from Will is at a high enough level.

    Act 2

Continue to improve your relationship with Will and progress on his personal quest. Then wait until there is a skit in the camp in which you will see Will dancing. Watch him dance for a bit and then choose the following options:

    1. "This was beautiful. Where did you learn to dance like that? or “Stand quietly and watch Will dance.”
    2. “And who is your new partner?” or “Believe me, you won’t be able to make a mistake in front of anyone – even if you try really hard.”
      Smile and bow.

You will then need to pass a skills test. Choose the characteristic that you have improved best, or the option that you want to see. The result will not affect the novel. The main thing is not to choose the answer “Stay still and shake your head.”

If you successfully passed the test y, then select:

    • “Bow” or “Smile shyly.”

If you failed the test, then select:

    • “You are a wonderful dancer. I’m sure you can teach me quickly” or “Smile shyly.”

The dance with Will will continue. Soon he will invite you to perform something... more intimate. Select the following dialogue options:

    1. “Kiss Will” or “Show him with your eyes that you don’t mind him being closer.” You both want this."
    2. “I was hoping we could spend this night...together” or “Kiss him again.”

Even if you invite Will to spend the night with you, he will refuse you because, in his opinion, the time has not yet come for this. So keep going through the game until you reach the third chapter.

    Act 3

Having resolved the situation with Duke Ravengard (he can either live or die), you will read the book “The Legend of Ansur”, which tells about the ancient dragon who sleeps under Baldur's Gate. Take a long rest at camp and you'll see an exclamation point above Will, indicating that he wants to talk to you.

Approach the sorcerer and chat with him to start a new scene. Will will begin to reflect on his past, only now finding out who his real enemy actually is. Answer the first response in any way, and then choose the following dialogue option:

    • “Smile and take Will’s hand” or “Okay. I hope it's worth it."

Then, together with Will, you will go to a huge oak tree, where the sorcerer will tell you about himself. Select the following answer:

    • “Enjoy the view. Enjoy Will's company."

Will will soon get down on one knee in front of you and propose to you using an acorn believed to have the power to grant wishes. Tell him the following:

    1. "Yes Yes Yes!" or “Take an acorn and nod.”
    2. “Lie down next to Will on the grass. Give yourself completely to him” or “The time has come. Let's see what Blade can do with his sword."

As a result, you will be shown a love scene with Will. Now you just have to watch the ending with this companion.

How does Dark Seduction affect the novel?

If you chose Dark Seduction as your origin, an important event may occur in the second act. This usually happens if the character did not kill Isobel and has a lover (in our case, Will). The darkness inside the heroine will prompt her to kill her chosen one during sleep. To prevent this from happening, follow these steps:

    1. Try to wake your partner and pass a Wisdom check (14).
    2. Once you are bound, make another Wisdom check (18). You will have a slight advantage because your lover will believe in you.

If you fail to do this, then you will most likely kill your chosen one. Your team members will be shocked by your uncontrollable madness, so if you fail to deceive them, you will have to fight all your former comrades alone. Surviving this fight will not be easy.

In Act 3, you will have the option of accepting your fate or freeing yourself from the Dark Seduction entirely. This takes place after the Murder Tribunal and Orin the Red arcs. The consequences of your decision for the novel (if Will is alive) will look like this:

    • Free yourself from Dark Seduction/refuse blessings. Gale will definitely be pleased that you are finally free of these shackles.
    • Accept your fate by remaining with the Dark Seduction. In this case, Will will still remain with you.

Is it possible to romance other characters at the same time?

Will is extremely negative about the fact that you will try to build romantic relationships with other companions. You can try to get approval from other companions and even kiss them, but ultimately you will have to choose who to stay with, as the sorcerer will lead you into a similar conversation.

Having an affair with Halsin will also not work - if you ask Will for permission, he will refuse you, and if you sleep with a druid behind his back, then you will end your relationship with him. This also applies to other fleeting romances, for example, with Mizora - no matter what you tell Will later, he will not forgive you for your betrayal.

Thus, if you plan to build a relationship with Will, then try to remain faithful only to him, otherwise you will not be able to complete the romantic line with him.
