In Genshin Impact The Traveler is the main character with one unique feature - he is able to use two classes at once: Anemo and Geo. Perhaps, after adding new regions, players will be able to retrain him to other elements. This character has good characteristics and abilities, so you probably go through most of the game with him.
If you want to learn about the best weapons, talents and builds for the Traveler (Geo, Anemo), then check out our guide. We will also tell you about its key features and capabilities.
Traveler Guide (Anemo)
Characteristics and features
First of all, let's look at the skills and talents of this character so that you know what abilities he has. Let's start with skills:
- Foreigner's Iron Wind - normal attack: the character performs 5 quick hits; Charged Attack: Performs 2 quick sword strikes at a cost of stamina; Plunging Attacks: falls rapidly to the ground, attacking all enemies in the way, and upon landing, deals damage in an area.
- Palm Vortex - Releases a vacuum Whirlpool that deals constant Anemo damage to all enemies in its path. Upon completion of the skill, the Whirlpool explodes, dealing AoE damage to Anemo. With a long press, the damage gradually increases.
- Gust Surge - Channels Wind Currents and creates a tornado that pulls objects and enemies towards it, dealing constant Anemo damage to them. Can absorb other elements.
- Slitting Wind (Passive Skill) - The last hit of a series of normal attacks summons an Anemo sword that deals 60% Anemo damage to all enemies in its path.
- Second Wind (Passive Skill) - Enemies killed by Palm Vortex Palm restore 2% of the hero's HP over 5 seconds. May occur once every 5 seconds.
If we talk about talents, then they look like this:
- Raging Vortex - Palm Vortex skill sucks in enemies within a 5m radius.
- Uprising Whirlwind - Increases Energy Recharge by 16%.
- Sweeping Gust - Increases the level of the Gust Surge skill by 3. Max level: 15.
- Cherishing Breezes - Reduces damage taken while Palm of the Whirlwind is active by 10%.
- Spinning Stars - Increases the skill level of Palm Vortex by 3. Max level: 15.
- Intertwined Winds – Reduces Anemo resistance of enemies hit by Explosive Tornado by 20%. When absorbing elements from opponents
- the resistance to the absorbed element also decreases.
Now consider the main advantages and disadvantages of this fighter. Its strengths include:
- Melee attacks are easy to use.
- Can cover Anemo with skills over a large area.
- The passive talent allows normal attacks to deal Anemo damage.
As for the weaknesses of the Traveler, they are, fortunately, not very many:
- Cannot move while charging elemental skills.
- Skills take a long time to cool down.
How to play Traveler (Anemo)
- Easy-to-use melee attacks are ideal for beginners
In combat, the Traveler wields a sword, which is considered the easiest of the 5 weapons in the game to use. With it, he can deliver fast and easy-to-learn attacks. The main Achievement: Hero does not have a rotational strike, like characters wielding two-handed swords, but it is much easier to aim at enemies with it. Plus, he's not that slow.
For a basic offensive style, we recommend using a touch attack. To do this, hit the enemy 5 times in a row to knock him back on the last hit. Then run after him and keep doing the same move until you finish him off.
- Elemental skill and burst disperse elements on enemies
The elemental skill “Palm Vortex” can both impose the Anemo element on enemies, and dispel the element attached to one enemy on all other mobs hit by the attack. This can be used to deal whirlwind damage even to enemies that don't have a negative status yet.
Elemental Explosion "Gust Surge" is useful for dispelling elements and creating a Vortex that sucks in all nearby enemies. Therefore, while a similar effect can be achieved with a normal elemental skill, the ultimate has a significant area-of-effect advantage, making it more effective for inflicting elemental statuses on multiple enemies at once.
- Can be used with Cryo characters to cross water barriers
Elemental skill and explosion scatter elements not only on enemies, but also on nearby surfaces. So when a Cryo Achievement: Hero freezes the water with his skills, you can switch to the Traveler and use one of his skills to spread the freeze further across the water and create more ice to walk on.
If you have only one Cryo character in your team, then the Traveler can noticeably speed up the freezing of water, as it avoids the need to wait for the freezing skill to cool down. Just switch between the two heroes and you can keep walking on the ice for as long as you need.
Best builds
Traveler (Anemo) is a good support character and sometimes he can also act as a secondary DPS, so our build is mainly focused on reducing the resistance of enemies to the elements and increasing the effectiveness of the elemental reaction Elemental Reaction: Swirl, so that your squad can deal additional damage to them. As a weapon, we advise you to take:
- Skyward Blade (5-star) – Increases your critical strike chance by 4%. When using an elemental explosion, the damage from simple and charged hits is increased by 20%, and movement speed by 10%. The effect lasts 12 seconds.
- Favonius Sword (4-Star) - Critical hits have a 60% chance to generate elemental particles that restore 6 energy. The effect occurs every 12 seconds.
- Corrupted Desire (4-star) – Increases elemental skill damage by 16% and its chance to critically hit by 6%. A budget sword for Keii that can be obtained during the event "The Chalk Prince and the Dragon" .
- Sacrificial Sword (4-Star) - Successfully using an elemental skill has a 40% chance to instantly restore its cooldown. The effect appears once every 30 seconds.
Among the sets of artifacts, the best sets for this character are the following sets (from best to worst):
- Viridescent Venerer (5-star) - 2 items: increase Anemo damage bonus by 15%; 4 items: Increase Dispel damage by 60%, and if it interacts with another element, then the enemy's resistance to it is reduced by 40% for 10 seconds. Can be obtained in Dungeon "Valley of Remembrance" .
- Noblesse Oblige: 2 items - Increase elemental explosion damage by 20%. Using this ability increases the Attack Rating of all team members by 20% (lasts 12 seconds). Can be obtained from the Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern dungeon.

Traveler Guide (Geo)
Characteristics and features
First of all, let's look at the skills and talents of this character so that you know what abilities he has. Let's start with skills:
- Stone Blade - normal attack: the character performs 5 quick strikes; Charged Attack: Performs 2 quick sword strikes at a cost of stamina; Plunging Attacks: falls rapidly to the ground, attacking all enemies in the way, and upon landing, deals damage in an area.
- Starfell Sword – Creates a meteorite from deep within the earth that deals area damage to Geo. This object is considered a geo-construction: it can be climbed or used to block attacks.
- Earth Awakening - By activating geo-elements located deep underground, the character manages to create expanding shock waves that knock back surrounding enemies and deal Geo damage to them. Along the edges of the shock wave, a stone wall appears, which is a geoconstruction. It can be used to block attacks.
- Shattered Shadowstone (Passive Skill) – Reduces the cooldown of Starfell Sword by 2 seconds.
- Furious Rockslide (Passive Skill) - The last hit of a Light Attack causes a Collapse, dealing AoE damage to Geo equal to 60% of Attack Power.
If we talk about talents, then they look like this:
- Invincible Stone Wall - Party members within Earthwake's area of effect have their critical strike chance increased by 10%. They also gain increased resistance to being interrupted by their strikes.
- Rockcore Meltdown - After the meteorite created by the Starfall Sword disappears, an explosion occurs that deals additional Geo damage in an area.
- Will of Stone - Increases the level of Wake of the Earth by 3. Max level: 15.
- Reaction Force - The shockwave launched by Wake of the Earth restores 5 energy for each enemy defeated. Up to 25 units of energy can be restored at a time.
- Meteorite Impact - Increases the level of Starfall Sword by 3. Max level: 15.
- The Eternal Boulder Hurdle created by Waking the Earth lasts 5 seconds longer, and the Meteor created by Starfall Sword lasts 10 seconds longer.
Now consider the main advantages and disadvantages of this fighter. Its strengths include:
- Melee attacks are easy to use.
- Can create huge boulders that can be used to reach hard-to-reach places.
- Elemental Explosion can be used simultaneously over a large area.
As for the weaknesses of the Traveler, they are, fortunately, not very many:
- The elemental skill can block your teammates.
- To become a good damage dealer (DPS), you need at least the 4th ascension phase.
How to play Traveler (Geo)
- Pairs well with archers
Thanks to the elemental skill Starfell Sword, which summons a giant boulder from the ground, this character feels great in a team with archers. While standing on a rock, heroes with ranged weapons will be able to safely fire at enemies attacking up close. However, with opponents hitting from afar, this trick will not work. However, in this case, the boulder can be used as a regular shelter.
- Elemental skill can be used to overcome obstacles
The summoned meteorite can act as a platform that your character can easily climb onto. Thus, you can, for example, reach the desired platform or stand in the middle of a pond to activate an important column. In general, this stone has a lot of uses.
Best builds
Traveler (Geo) can be a good secondary DPS, dealing a lot of damage with his skills. Therefore, we have chosen a build aimed at strengthening his skills and increasing the damage caused by normal attacks.
As for artifacts, two sets will suit him. First set:
- Archaic Petra - 2 items: Increase Geo damage by 15%. Picking up shards created by the Crystallize reaction increases the elemental damage of all team members by 35 percent for 10 seconds. Damage is increased by only one element at a time. Can be obtained from the Gu Yun Realm dungeon.
The second set is "Noblesse Oblige" (5-star) - 2 items: Increase elemental explosion damage by 20%; 4 items: Using an elemental explosion increases the attack power of all team members by 20% for 12 seconds. The bonus does not stack. By the way, if you do not have enough certain items, then you can take incomplete sets of both sets.
Traveler Guide (Electro)
We decided to consider this version of the character in separate guide. It shows his best builds, weapons and artifacts, as well as information about the optimal teams and leveling.
Guide to the Traveler (Dendro)
We decided to consider this version of the character in separate guide. It shows his best builds, weapons and artifacts, as well as information about the optimal teams and leveling.
Combination with other characters
Given the ability of the Traveler to change his element, he can be used in almost any team as a support character or a secondary damage dealer. In the first case, he can be a good alternative for Venti, if you still have not managed to knock out this character.
Instead of Dilyuk, you can take Klee, which easily imposes a Pyro status on nearby enemies, which increases the effectiveness of the Dispersion caused by the Traveler (Anemo).
You can also create a squad with two Geos using Ningguang as your main DPS. Venti is also useful in this group. With the Traveler (Geo) you can also assemble the following command:
- Primary DPS: Xiao (can be permanently protected while spamming attacks)
- Secondary damage: Zhongli (With You with the main character will be able to create strong shields)
- Support: Traveler (Geo)
- Support: Bennett (will be able to increase the team's attack power and heal them)
