The Arisen’s Shadow in Dragon's Dogma 2: how to catch the stalker

    Zorthrus

In Dragon's Dogma 2 The Arisen’s Shadow is a side quest in which you have to find and capture the stalker. Then you will have to decide whether to let him go or give him to the guards. If you have any difficulties receiving and completing the task, then study our guide.

Walkthrough of the quest “The Arisen’s Shadow” in Dragon's Dogma 2

    How to start a task

First of all, you will need to complete one of the three story missions that Brant gives during the first conversation in the tavern: “Cleansing up monsters,” “Disa’s Intrigue,” or "Prisoner Lawyer". Visit him again at the Stardrop Inn at night and chat with him. Then exhaust all of his dialogue threads and he will soon mention that someone is stalking you.

If you were unable to receive the quest during a conversation with the captain, then leave the tavern (preferably at night) and walk around the city until the pawn reports that someone is following you. Personally, this happened next to the statue in the market square.

Important: This quest must be completed before the start of the 10th story quest “Festival of Deception”, as then it will no longer be available to you.

    Deal with the stalker

So, you will need to catch this mysterious stranger. If one of the pawns says that she feels someone's gaze on you, then this means that the pursuer is very close - look around you carefully and try to find a man with a brown hood (see screenshot below). He may also address you by shouting "You!" .

A meeting with this character can occur anywhere in the city, both during the day and at night (more likely). He may try to get close to you and stab you. If you notice him, he will immediately try to run away from you - run after him, and then grab him by pressing the RT (R2) button.

    Detain Bermudo or release

Bermudo will tell you that he was asked to monitor the Risen in order to know about all your actions. However, since he was caught, his work has come to an end, so the spy will ask you to let him go. A choice will appear here:

    • Refuse.
    • Demand compensation.

What happens if you demand compensation?

In this case, the spy will offer you money for his freedom. You can refuse him again or accept the gold. If you choose the second option, you will receive 5000 gold from him, after which he will run away and the quest will automatically complete. You will also be given 1000 experience points.

What happens if you refuse Bermudo

In this case, the pursuer will immediately attack you. Try don't kill him, since in about 30-40 seconds the guards led by Brant will come running, stop the fight and capture the criminal. You will find out that he was Battal's spy. The captain will need several days to interrogate the agent and find out what he knows.

Important: If you accidentally killed Bermudo, then revive him using the awakening stone. You can find fragments of this stone in chests located in the Vermund Funeral Home. By the way, if the spy’s corpse disappears, it can be found in the morgue, located in the same basement as the chests (see screenshots below).

Next, you will need to wait 2-3 days, minding your own business. Then head to the Stardrop Inn at night and chat with Brant at the table in the back of the inn. Select answer "Tell me about the fisher you caught" . This will complete the task, and as a reward you will receive 4000 gold and 1000 experience points.

Let's add that if you hand Bermudo over to the guards, you can later get border pass to Battal, which will make it much easier for you to cross the border with this kingdom in the future. However, it will be possible to get there without this piece of paper.
