To start it and see the famous scene with the bear, you have to improve relations with him, and choose the correct answers during the dialogues. In this guide, we will tell you in detail about how to build a romantic relationship with this character.

How to improve relations with Halsin

Before you can begin to develop a romantic relationship with a druid, you will need to advance quite a bit in the story. In addition, it is extremely important to try to make those decisions that will lead to approval from Khalsin. When exploring the world and gatherings in the camp, there will be many moments that can affect his opinion of you. If you don't have a good relationship with him, he won't show any interest in you when it matters.

Approval in Baldur's Gate 3 is the most important aspect when it comes to romantic relationships with characters. Regardless of who you're planning to romance with, the first thing you need to do is befriend him so that he generally approves of your actions.

Khalsin, like all your other possible companions, has a pronounced personality and worldview, so there are things that he approves of and those that he does not like. So as long as you are able to maintain an image in your character that matches the traits of a druid, it will be relatively easy to get his approval.

Khalsin is an honest and noble druid who proudly demonstrates his beliefs and never leaves his intended path. He always tries to act with justice, and his main goal is to preserve nature and the natural order of things. By nature, he is very harsh, so he does not take jokes well. In general, if you follow the heroic path, you can gain his favor with relative ease.

We will not detail all the actions that Khalsin approves or disapproves of (you can find them in our separate material by companions), and we will indicate only the general things that he likes or dislikes.

What Khalsin approves of:

Respect for nature.
Showing kindness to animals.
Maintaining his druidic beliefs.
General acts of kindness and heroism.

What Khalsin disapproves of:

Causing harm to animals.
Unreasonable acts of cruelty and violence.
Attempts to challenge his druidic beliefs.
Villainous deeds of all kinds.

Halsin will only be able to become your companion in Act 2, so you will have much less time to get his approval compared to other companions. For this reason, we recommend that you talk to the druid in the camp as often as possible and be sure to take him into your squad.

How to start and develop a romance with Helsinki

Act 1

You won't be able to start a romance with Khalsin in the first chapter, but you will need to complete some steps to make a romantic relationship with him possible. First of all, stand on the side of the druids and protect their grove. If you team up with the goblins and Mintar and then attack the grove, you will automatically block all further interactions with Khalsin, as he will either die or refuse to become a member of your squad.

Be sure to complete the quests "Save the druid Khalsin" and "Save the Refugees". Make sure the druid doesn't die before the victory celebration. The next day you should be able to invite Khalsin to your camp - do it. When he visits your parking lot, be sure to greet him and start a friendly conversation with him.

Ask the druid about his past and former chosen ones. Respond to his remarks politely and friendly. Try not to argue with him about his beliefs - this will open the way for you to start a romance in the future.

Act 2

You still won't be able to romance him in this chapter, but you can get even closer to your cherished goal. In the case of wrong actions, you can forever lose such an opportunity. So, you will need to take on the quest "Remove the Dark Curse" - for this you need to sing to Art Kulah, who is in the Last Light tavern, a song on the lute that can be taken from the corpse of Malus. If the patient has already died, then "talk" to his corpse.

Note: Be sure to keep Isobel alive in the tavern and don't make decisions (related to Dark Seduction and Nightsong) that lead to the destruction of the Last Light and the death of all its guests. Otherwise, you will not be able to recruit Khalsin later and start an affair with him.

After talking with Art, tell Khalsin about how to remove the curse. Then start going through the corresponding quest, during which you will find a child named Taniel. Later, when Khalsin is between dimensions, be sure to defend the gate to the Shadow World by holding out for 4 turns. Otherwise, the druid will die.

You must also prevent the boy's death by uniting his two halves and dealing with Ketherik Torm. If you do not do this, then it will not be possible to remove the curse, therefore, even if Khalsin joins your team, you will not be able to have an affair with him. You will understand that you did everything right if you see a scene with the disappearance of the shadow when you leave the Shadow-Corrupted Lands.

Act 3

Having reached the third chapter, you can finally begin a full-fledged romance with Khalsin. Pass through the Dragon Crossing. Once you reach the Lower City, you should have a druid-related trigger. It may happen sooner for you if his level of approval for you is high enough. After resting in the camp, you will notice that the companion wants to talk to you.

Respond to his first line however you like, and then say:

"What do you want to tell me?" or “Loved many? Maybe it's easier to stir your heart than you think" or "I thought you were bound by the bonds of nature."

Next will be a cue, which may differ depending on your previous actions. For example, if you have have a serious relationship with another character then choose the following answer:

I'd be lying if I said I'm not interested. But I'm already in a relationship...

The druid preaches polygamy, so he doesn't mind if we have an affair with another character. So you can either cut ties with your current lover instantly or talk to him about Khalsin first. To do this, select one of the following dialog options:

I will talk with[любовный интерес] - in this case, a conversation will begin with your current chosen one. Try to convey to him the idea that you want to maintain a loving relationship with him (tell him that you still love him), but at the same time you want to spend the night with Khalsin, but you will not do this without his permission. Some characters will take it easy (Shadowheart and Astarion), while others will be harder if not impossible to convince (Karlach, Gale).
I wanna be with you. Consider that between me and[любовным интерес] it's over - Khalsin will ask you if you are sure that you are ready to end the current relationship so quickly. You can change your mind or say you're sure. In the latter case, you will have a serious conversation with a former lover the next day.

Having broken off relations with the chosen one or having received permission from him for an affair, tell Khalsin about this. If you have never had an affair with anyone, you can immediately respond positively to his feelings for you. When the conversation with him is over, go to bed by interacting with the sleeping bag.

When the scene with Khalsin starts, choose any of the options (except for the last one). After a few kisses and hugs, the druid will suddenly turn into a bear and then back into a human. If you want him to remain in his human form, then tell him the following:

“I’m honored that I could have had such an impact on you. Now come here."

You'll see a slightly more boring scene with Halsin the human, but that doesn't make it any less romantic. On this, the love branch with him can be considered completed. At the end of the game, you will have another small dialogue with him where you will have to part ways with the druid.

How to see the bear scene

If you want to watch the famous bear scene from the trailer, then after Khalsin turns into a beast, and then becomes a man again, tell him the following:

"No need to apologize, I liked it."
"Yes. Transform again. Give me the beast... and the beast will get me.”
"Big is what I'm here for" or "Imagine we're back in the woods... and I'm your prey."

As a result, the druid will again take the form of a bear, and you will spend the night with him. On this, the love branch with him will end.
