    Puzzle in the Inquisitor's chambers in Baldur's Gate 3: how to unfold the Lathander statues

    Leni Guides 0

    In Baldur's Gate 3 There are quite a few secret rooms and passages that open only after solving puzzles. One of these is located in the Inquisitor's Chambers, a difficult-to-reach area to the north of the Illek manger. Here you can come across a room with two rotating Lathander Monuments, the correct placement of which can bring you closer to obtaining the Blood of Lathander legendary weapon.

    From our article you will learn how to find and solve the puzzle in the inquisitor's chambers. We'll tell you how to unwrap the two Lathander monuments and what to do with the jammed statue.

    How to get to the Inquisitor's Quarters in Baldur's Gate 3

    The first thing you need to do is get to monastery Rosimorn . This complex of ruins can be found behind the mountain pass and is associated with a personal quest Laesel. Having a Githyanki in your party can make your journey a little easier, but it is not required.

    Find the way to the monastery basement

    The path to the manger of the Giths lies through monastery basement. This passage is located behind the statue of Lathander, which stands in the northern half of the ruined temple. Since the building was badly damaged, you will have to climb a little and jump over rubble and cliffs more than once.

    First floor

    So, not far from the rune circle " Abode of Rosimorn “There is a main entrance, but it is closed. Visible on the left broken stained glass window, through which you can climb into the hall with tipsy kobolds. Make your way through the room to the hole in the wall, from which you need to climb to the second floor building.

    If you don’t want to fight with short creatures, turn on stealth for your squad and carefully crawl under the wooden scaffolding to the far side of the room. It is best to move not the group, but each hero separately - this way you are less likely to create unnecessary noise and aggro creatures.

    Second floor

    From the room with the kobolds, climb up the rocks and jump onto terrace with artificial overgrown swimming pool. From there, go through boarded-up passage , which can be detected with a successful attentiveness check (but it’s already visible).

    After breaking the boards, turn immediately to the left and move straight, jumping over the crack in the floor with the sun sign. There will be a corridor ahead with two doors, we need the far one. From it you can get to a dilapidated flight of stairs - here we go down back to the first floor.

    Path to the monastery basement

    After going down, go forward and turn left. The heroes will run into another boarded-up passage, having broken through it, you need to turn into the door on the right - it leads to the hall with the statue of Lathander ( X: 73 Y: 67 ).

    All that remains is to go down to the door located behind the monument. Interacting with her will take your party straight to the Illek crèche.

    Go to the captain's office

    Before moving to the guard positions, decide on the composition of your squad:

    • Taking Laesel, you will pass by Gish Faraag without any problems: select the option “ Let Laesel answer ”, and she will provide you with a safe path through the manger;
    • Without the help of the Githyanki, your only option is through Intimidation or Persuasion tests. Even if you don't pass the first time, you can use a re-roll. However, if you fail all attempts, the gith will become hostile.

    If you don't want to deal with a group of aggressive warriors, at least take Laezel with you for a while. This part of the nursery is free to move around, so you can always leave it at camp.

    From the main entrance, go straight and then right to the area with the rune circle. At the end of the corridor with the teleport there is a passage to githyanki commander's office, Kitrak Terrezin, - through him we can get into the inquisitor’s chambers.

    Steal the Githyanki Barrier Key

    After the cutscene (if you are entering for the first time), choose the most agile character and go around the Gith captain from behind. Crouch and click on Kitrak Terrezin to commit theft . In her luggage will be the only item we need, - githyanki shard.

    You don’t even have to talk to the warrior, but after the theft, be prepared that the Gith woman will quickly discover what’s missing. In this case you can:

    • Without checks: Give 723 gold/attack (but it’s better not to);
    • Attempt to negotiate by selecting Intimidate, Persuasion, or Deception responses (DC 15).

    If the squad has Shadowheart, keep her away from Kitrak wolves - when your partner sees them, she immediately gets scared for 2 turns.

    Remains insert the jewel into the barrier breaking mechanism , and the gith themselves will express a desire to talk with unexpected guests.

    Enter the Inquisitor's Chambers

    In the area behind the barrier, the red zone begins, in which you will not be able to move freely to the nearest moving points. Move along the central bridge to the large wooden door and go straight into the hall. The puzzle room is located to the left of Chirai Vvargaz, Vlaakith's loyal follower.

    How to unfold the statues in the Inquisitor's Quarters in Baldur's Gate 3

    In the room with coordinates X: 1330 Y: 661 you will find two monuments to Lathander, at the foot of which there is a tablet with the following text:

    • Northern: " ...the rising sun, the source of all blessings ";
    • South: "... says goodbye to the setting sun "

    It follows from the instructions: one of the monuments must be turned to the east (sunrise), and the other to the west (sunset).

    Northern statue

    Monuments should rotate when you right-click on them, this is how it works from the north: click on it 3 times so that the face looks towards the main hall - this is exactly east direction .

    Southern statue

    With the southern statue, not everything is so simple: if Athletics bonus your character is quite high (+8/+10), then when interacting with the monument, you are more likely to pass characterization check and you can easily pull off the monument (you can try with all the characters).

    But if your characters fail the test, you will find that the statue is stuck. Then you need hit with a fairly heavy weapon , from which at least the monument will pass 10 damage. One hit is enough - the statue has only 30 HP and it can collapse if you do not calculate the strength.

    Southern Lathander Monument needs to be rotated to the west , that is with your back to the passage into the room (also 3 times).

    If done correctly, the eastern half of the room will open passage to the secret staircase, from where you can get to the secret section. Having walked along the revealed path, we get the opportunity to pick up legendary mace "Blood of Lathander" .
