In the game, Mintara appears as one of the goblin leaders sent by Ketheric Torm in search of Mysterious artifact. Mintara is also a faithful adept of the Absolute.

In this article, we will tell you how to find and recruit Mintara, create the best build and romance her.

    Background

Mintara hails from the city of Menzobenranzan, located in the Underdark. After the Absolute adepts arrived in the city, Mintara became interested in a new cult. She gathered a detachment and went with him to Moon Towers.

Orin and Ketherick held a lavish reception for their new guests, which ended in disastrous results. Mintara was the only one from the squad who survived and with the help of the illithid larva Orin made her Faithful. Under the influence of the larva, Mintara renounced her goddess Lolth and began to worship a new deity - the Absolute.

Later, Mintara, along with two other goblin leaders, settled in the destroyed temple of Selune. Together they, on the orders of Ketheric Torm, developed a plan to find the Mysterious Artifact.

For the first time in the game, Mintara can be seen in a cutscene, watching the fall of the Nautiloid from the Goblin Camp.

    How to recruit Mintara

    Help capture the Emerald Grove

In the first act, Mintara is in Goblin camp. You can meet her during the quest "Save the Refugees". You can find her in the Broken Sanctuary (X:335, Y;43), where it is necessary to start a dialogue with her.

From a conversation with her, you can learn that she is looking for the location of the Emerald Grove, where tieflings have found refuge. Mintara believes that it is behind the closed gates of the grove that the Druids hide the Mysterious Artifact. In order to recruit her, you will have to agree to help her find the grove and kill all its inhabitants. If you have already been there, open your mind to Mintara and let her find out where the grove is.

However, having agreed to help her cut out the grove, Will and Karlach will leave your squad, and Halsin will also not be available in the future. At the same time, tiefling quests and saving the Cursed Lands will also be unavailable.

Mintara will order you to go to the grove and open the gate for her squad. After talking with Mintara, a new task will appear "Raid the Emerald Grove". Act quickly to get into the grove before the druids close it.

Move to the grove. An entry will appear in the diary “Mintara is preparing an attack on the grove. She told us to wait for dawn. I should get some sleep" . Go to the camp for a long rest, then move to the gate opening mechanism (X:203, Y:447).

When you see the goblins approaching, Zevlor will begin a dialogue with you. Admit to him that you brought Mintara and the goblins and the battle will begin. After it, your hero will open the gate and the next battle will begin in the Stone Hall, where you will have to kill Will, a potential companion. Next, the battle will take place nearby in the Secluded Chambers, and the final battle will take place in the very center of the Emerald Grove, already with the Druids.

    Celebrate victory

After capturing the Emerald Grove, it is necessary talk to Mintara and open your mind to her to see what she wants. After this, she will offer to join you in the camp and celebrate your victory.

Take a long rest and talk to Mintara again. This time she will invite you to be alone with her. If you decide to refuse her, it will not cause negative consequences in the future, although it will make her angry.

Having agreed to surrender to Mintara, a bed cutscene will begin, after which she will try to kill the sleeping protagonist. Check for persuasion or intimidation (15), in order to avoid a fight.

After this, Mintara will advise you to go to the Lunar Towers to join the Absolute. She will tell you how to go through the Mountain Pass and give Spider lyre to call a guide with a Moon Lantern. You will also receive Gift from Absolut - a flask with an illithid parasite.

Mintara herself will leave your camp and set off on her own. Read how to call a guide, get the Moon Lantern and safely get to the Moon Towers this article.

    Moon Towers

Once you reach the Moon Towers, follow the Throne room, where you will meet Ketheric Torm in person for the first time.

Ketherick will sentence a group of goblins and Mintara herself to death for a failed mission. In order to recruit Mintara, you need to save her by choosing one of the wisdom checks in the dialogue (16, 21). Mintara will be spared, but no matter what, she will be sent to prison.

The prison can be found next to the Throne Room. Going down the stairs, in the room on the left you can find two gnome adepts of the Absolute, who will try to erase Mintara's mind.

    Endorsements for Mintara

Mintara, along with Astarion and Laezel, approves cruel, evil or selfish actions of the main character.

Anything related to murder, deception and the desire for power will be approved by Mintara. For example, a large amount of approval can be obtained after defeating Ketherick, suggesting that she defeat Gortash and Orin and seize power together.

However, some are obvious evil actions may cause disapproval. For example, in the Towers of the Moon, Mintara will try to find out from you why you decided to kill the tieflings. If you answer that you were prompted to do this by a thirst for murder, suffering, or simply a desire to do it, Mintara will react negatively. She will also not approve if you choose to let Marcus kidnap Isobel from the Last Light Tavern.

Against, good intentions and helping others will be condemned by Mintara. Mintara does not like to show sympathy, especially to those who are weaker. She will also not like it if you show disrespect for the drow culture and disagree with her opinions.

Mintara is monogamous. If your hero is in a relationship with her, then she will not approve of any hints of betrayal. For example, she will react aggressively to the offer of sleeping with the drow twins in Weasel Shares, an affair with Mizora, or starting a polygamous relationship with Halsin (if you have them in your camp).

    Romance with Mintara

Bed scene with Mintara in the first act will not be the beginning of a novel and cannot guarantee a relationship in the future. A direct romantic relationship with Mintara can only begin in the third act.

During one of the long rests, Mintara will want to talk to you. She will share her thoughts about trusting you and her fears. Mintara will ask you to open your mind in order to see how the main character sees her. Necessary introduce Mintara as a lover. This choice will be the beginning of your romance.

    Mintara's Quests

Mintara herself, unlike other companions, does not have her own personal quest. However, she is directly involved in the quest "Save the Refugees", giving you the optional mission “Raid the Emerald Grove.”

Also, a quest appears in the Moon Towers "Secure Mintara's fate", which must be rescued in order to become your companion.

In the third act, Mintara may become a victim of Orin's abduction from the camp if she is absent from the main party during the quest "Visit the Emperor's Old Refuge."

    Endings for Mintara

The developers have prepared two endings for Mintara.

The bad ending involves the brain being subdued at the end of the final battle with the Absolute. Unlike the usual bad ending, where all the companions obey the main character, Mintara retains her mind and rejoices at gaining power.

If you get a good ending, six months later the Withered One will gather all the heroes for a party. Mintara will also appear on it and talk about her life after getting rid of the illithid larva. For more information about the good ending of Mintara and how to open it, read this article.
