In Wuthering Waves The quest "When The Forest is No Longer Dim" is a research task. As part of its implementation, you will have to save the life of one of the academy’s scientists, as well as rid one of the areas from pollution that is dangerous for all creatures located there. In this guide, you can learn how to destroy all poison cores using drones and get valuable rewards for doing so.
How to start the quest “When The Forest is No Longer Dim”
You must meet the following conditions to begin the task:
- Reach 20 level of unity.
- Increase Phase SOL3 to 3rd rank.
After upgrading to the required level, the When The Forest is No Longer Dim mission will appear in your quest log.
Walkthrough of the quest “When The Forest is No Longer Dim”
Find the source of the distress call
Go to the square in front of Huaxu Academy. Start a conversation with the worried scientist standing there to get information about his colleagues in trouble.
Travel to the Forbidden Forest, where the distress signal came from. At the indicated point you will find a camp captured by the Exiles. Deal with them all.
After the battle is over, go to the cage in which the scientist Qiaomu is locked. She will tell you how to find the key.
The key lies in the cylindrical structure to the left of the cage. Return to the scientist to free her.
Enter the contaminated area
Qiaomu will ask you to find her late colleague, Senmin. Travel to the Resonance Nexus located south of the camp. From there you can go to the contaminated zone around the Giant Banyan Tree.
While in a contaminated area, carefully monitor the poison level above the HP bar. As soon as it reaches the maximum value, the study will be interrupted.
Find Senmin
After talking with Qiaomu at the border of the contaminated area, activate the sensor.
Golden lines will appear in the marked area. Follow them and they will lead you to useful clues.
You will eventually come across an unconscious Senming. Pick up the girl, after which you will automatically return to Qiaomu.
Destroy the cores
After talking with Qiaomu, you will decide to start destroying the cores that are poisoning the territory. To do this, you will have to visit three contaminated zones one by one. It is worth noting that the clearings around these places will not poison your heroes.
The destruction of cores will take place as follows. Talk to Qiaomu to have her place several drones in the clearing around the core. Your task is to hit the devices in the correct order, thereby sending sound waves between them. The easiest way is to use any hero who owns pistols for this, in order to attack from afar and not run from place to place. You can also talk to the researcher after the test begins to get an overhead view of the entire structure.
Next, we'll look at the correct drone activation sequences to destroy each of the cores.
Contaminated zone 1
The first zone is south of the Giant Banyan Tree.
In the image, the character is standing slightly to the right of the monkey Hoohoo. You need to hit the drones in the following order:
- Drone 1: 1 time.
- Drone 2: 1 time.
- Drone 3: 2 times.
Go to the center of the clearing, where, in addition to the core sample, you can also pick up a chest.
Contaminated zone 2
On the way to the next core, examine the bodies of animals that have fallen under the influence of poisonous spores. At the last point you will also have to fight a pack of aggressive primates.
The next core is located northeast of the Giant Banyan Tree.
In the picture, the character is standing to the left of Qiaomu and Huhu, just opposite the first device. The procedure for activating drones is as follows:
- Drone 1: 1 time.
- Drone 2 (located one device away from Drone 1): 1 time.
- Drone 3: 1 time.
- Drone 4: 2 times.
- Drone 5: 1 time.
Note that one of the placed drones will not be used during setup. After completing the puzzle, don't forget to pick up the Core Samples and the chest.
Contaminated zone 3
Before moving on to the final core, head to Senmin's camp to see how the antibody creation is progressing. To help the researchers, you will have to collect three ingredients in a certain order in the laboratory. They are all located in close proximity to the main table and are marked with quest markers.
Then move to the Resonance Circuit and follow Huhu. Save your friend from the monsters attacking him.
After the battle, run towards the Purple Banyan Tree, where you will find the third core.
In the image, the character climbed onto a branch behind Qiaomu. Also, like last time, some drones will remain unused.
- Drone 1: 1 time.
- Drone 2: 2 times.
- Drone 3: 2 times.
- Drone 4: 1 time.
Once the customization is complete, you will be able to collect the final sample and chest.
Travel to an abandoned institute
To continue your exploration, head to the south of Wenye Beach to find an abandoned institute there. Before you move on to setting up the equipment, you will need to destroy several monsters living there.
You can get inside the building and gain access to the necessary information after setting up the equipment. The correct circuit for each device is shown in the images below. Just in case, we note that the third castle is located around the corner, on another wall of the building.
Enter the institute and discuss the information received with the researchers.
Deal with residual contamination
Rewind time to tomorrow between 17:00-19:00 and return to the explorers’ camp. After the conversation, you can proceed to the final part of the quest.
Move closer to the Giant Banyan Tree. After talking with Qiaomu, you will need to climb to the top of the tree. Wooden platforms around the trunk and bouncy mushrooms will help you with this.
When you get to the top, two monsters will attack you. Deal with them. After the victory and the cut-scene, do not forget to pick up the chest that appears.
Return to the researchers waiting at the Resonance Chain. Talk to them to complete the quest.
After this you will receive an achievement "Atom: Jungle's Odyssey".
You will also receive 100 astrits, 1000 experience points and other useful resources. In addition, the area around the Giant Banyan Tree will be cleared of pollution and you will be able to explore it freely.
