Chapter 1 Intermission in Zenless Zone Zero: How to Increase Reputation

In Zenless Zone Zero "Chapter 1 Intermission" is a mid-story quest that will introduce you to new game mechanics and unlock access to various side quests and activities. For example, you have to increase your reputation by reaching a certain Internot level and collecting enough surveillance data. If you have any difficulties completing it, then study our guide.

Walkthrough of the quest “Chapter 1 Intermission” in ZZZ

How to start a task

It starts automatically as soon as you complete the quest chain "The Cat's Missing". The next morning, go to the video store and watch a skit between your assistant and the schoolgirls, and then go to the AIK club to try out a new challenge. To do this, open the map (M key), select the desired location and move there.

Try a new challenge

Having moved to the club, you will see on the right the same schoolgirls who recently visited your store. There is no need to talk to them. So go straight to Bertha and chat with her. Next, launch a new combat simulation aimed at farming the materials necessary to upgrade the abilities of your agents.

We advise you to take your most pumped up characters to finish the fight faster. In this case, the weaknesses of the selected opponents should be taken into account. Please note that if you manage to complete the battle in 2 minutes or earlier, you will receive an additional reward. Upgrade the skills of one of the heroes, and then return to Sixth Street.

Your sister/brother will be waiting for you near the entrance to the video store - chat with her. She will tell you about new orders from Venus. You will also learn about the time shift system, which allows you to perform different activities at different times of the day.

Orders "Reconnaissance: Road Works and Safety Patrol"

To advance the quest you will need to complete two side orders from Venus. Go to the HDD system, interact with it, and then go to the section "Combat orders", where you will find two new quests. Let's look at each of them in more detail.

Intelligence: Roadworks (how to defeat Sentinel MK II)

To complete this task, agents of at least level 16 who belong to the Electro attribute are required. We advise you to assemble a squad of Nicole (support), Enby (sub-DD) and Billy (main-DD). The latter can be replaced with a 5-star damage dealer you have. Don't forget to also give Enby the Demara Battery Amplifier II.

In the first half of the mission you will have to fight with ordinary rangers, who do not pose much of a threat. We advise you to deal with them as quickly as possible, using various attacks to raise the decibel value and open access to the ult, but do not use it. Use your superpower only after the boss appears - Guardian MK II, in order to deal huge damage to him. This will help you complete the challenge in less than 3 minutes 30 seconds and get an S-rank.

Having dealt with all the ordinary mobs, go into the purple portal to get to a new area. Deal with another group of rangers. A red circle will then appear in the arena, indicating that the boss is approaching. Move away from this red area or you will take damage. Note that this robot is vulnerable to Electro, but has resistance to Fire.

The robot will fire a cannon and perform a dash kick. Both attacks are marked in the arena by special red zones - quickly leave them using sprint to avoid taking damage.

If you see that the boss is preparing to attack, and a cross-shaped golden halo has appeared around him, then this means that you can either perform a perfect dodge and counterattack (RMB + LMB), or perform a perfect assist (Space + LMB). The main thing is to accurately select the time to press the first button.

By destroying the robot, you will complete the challenge. If you manage to complete all 3 goals, you will receive the maximum reward: 30 polychromes, 250 Internot credits, 10,000 dennies and upgrade materials.

Intelligence: Security Patrol (how to defeat Sentinel MK II)

As in the previous battle, we advise you to take the following team: Nicole (support), Enby (sub-DD) and Billy/Anton (main-DD). You can replace the latter with any 5-star character you have. Grace would be a great option, as she can quickly destroy the boss's shield and Shock him.

In this challenge you will fight the MK II Guardian again, but this time he will gain the Electro attribute shield. To destroy him as quickly as possible, you will need to inflict as much electrical damage on him as possible, so try to use the skills of Enby, Anton and/or Grace more often.

In general, this boss uses the same attacks as the previous one. However, there are more shots from the cannon, so try to perform several dashes to dodge all the projectiles. The enemy may also start using a machine gun - in this case, quickly switch to a character with a sword (Enby, for example) and start using sprint to deflect all the bullets.

If you manage to defeat the boss in less than 2 minutes, you will receive the maximum reward: 183 Internot credits, 30 polychromes, 10,000 dennies and upgrade materials.

Find the faulty banbu and fix it

After completing the orders, talk to your brother and sister, and then meet Inspector Meowchelo and agree to help him. You have to find a broken banbu - it is located behind the ticket kiosk, next to the trash container. Interact with the lost woman and solve the circuit puzzle by rotating the logic gates as shown in the second screenshot below.

Talk to Meowchelo again. As a result, you will unlock new mechanics related to completing Meowchelo's challenges and earning additional rewards. To do this, you need to complete various mini-tasks and activities in the city. We talked about this in more detail in a separate guide.

Increase your proxy reputation

Next, return to the video store and chat with your sister/brother. Then sleep on the couch. The next morning, talk to Belle/Wise again. She will tell you about increasing the proxy's reputation. Next, to continue the quest you have to complete two goals:

Reach Internot level 20.
Collect observation data.

To complete these tasks, we recommend that you complete side quests and activities, namely:

Battle: Dimensional Musketeer

Start tracking the corresponding quest, and then go up to old man Jaubert in your video store and talk to him. Next, enter Internet (key “E”) and find the order "Classic shot" in notifications. Get to work on it.

Next, interact with the HDD system, go to the combat orders section and take on the “Spatial Musketeer” mission. Your agents must be at least level 14 and belong to the Electro attribute. The same squad that we advised to take in previous battles will do.

Here you will find a new game mechanic - you will need to activate the Data Collection Device to fill a special scale. If enemies enter the blue area, the process will stop, so you need to either keep the enemies away from the mechanism, or deal with all the enemies.

In the first round, you'll be attacked by ranged enemies who will be standing far away from you, so you can just sprint around the device and wait for the bar to fill. Take a fighter with a sword to deflect bullets flying at you. If an enemy enters the area, quickly push him away with your attacks.

Once you have completed collecting data, log into the portal. You will find yourself in the second area where you just need to deal with a group of enemies. Next, go upstairs and interact with the data extraction device to activate it. Start pushing opponents out of the blue zone again. This time there will be more melee fighters, so we advise you to deal with them quickly.

By filling the second scale, you will complete the test. If you do this in less than 3 minutes 30 seconds, you will receive the maximum reward: 225 Internot credits, 30 polychromes. 9000 denni and pumping materials. Next, return to Jaubert at the video store and chat with him to receive your quest reward.

Zero cavity

When you complete a few quests and reach about Internot level 16, someone will knock on your door. Open and listen to the Shepherd. He will tell you that you can take part in the study of the Zero Cavern. Talk to Belle, and then go to your room and sleep until the morning.

The next day, talk to your sister again to discuss the Shepherd's proposal. You decide to accept it. So go to the parking lot, get in your car and drive to Post Scott. By doing this, you will unlock a new game mode that allows you to earn a lot of polychromes. We talked about it in more detail in a separate guide.

Visit the Turbo workshop

After completing the introductory quest associated with the Zero Cavity, you can return back to the city. Next, head to the workshop located near your video rental store. There you will meet Enzo. He will tell you about the Banbu system and the ability to improve these cute creatures. The latter is exactly what they do at Turbo.

Next, return home and talk with your sister again. Most likely, you will need to continue to level up Internot and collect surveillance data by completing side orders. We have indicated the relevant tasks above. After completing the next mission, sleep on the couch.

Complete the current Agent Story

The next morning, talk to the Fairy. You will unlock new mechanics related to the Video Archive and the ability to complete agent personal quests. To do this, interact with the shelf with video tapes in the office, and then select the story of Soldier 11 called “The Mole in the Cavern.”

This quest consists of three episodes, but currently you only need to go through the first episode called "Between Truth and Lies". After passing it, return to the bedroom and sleep again.

Complete the Proxy Reputation Challenge

By this time, you should already have reached Internot level 20 and collected the required number of data packages. When you wake up, you will go downstairs and talk to the pink-haired girl at the video store. After this, read the message from the Shepherd, who will offer you to increase your proxy reputation, which will lead to the start of the task "Proxy Path I".

Enter your account, interact with the HDD system, go to the “Main Line” and select a task there to increase your rank. We talked about this in more detail in a separate guide.

Complete the research mission "Emergency"

After increasing your proxy reputation level, chat with Belle in the store, which will unlock new equipment for agents - special disks. We are talking about analogues of artifacts from Genshin Impact, which increase the characteristics of characters and give them unique bonuses. You will then be contacted by a supply supplier who will recommend good places to find new VHS tapes.

The game will then warn you to enter Hyper Focus mode. Agree and leave the store, and then go to the iron gate, where your sister will be waiting for you. Watch a funny video, and then talk to the Shepherd near the video store. Next, go to the noodle shop and chat with General Chop. You will find out that Belle went without you.

Head to the exit from the street and talk to the Security Service. You learn that a cavern has formed on the highway. The fairy will invite you to look for your sister on your own. Return to your office and interact with the HDD system. Then select the "Emergency" order from the main line. Its detailed walkthrough can be read in our separate material.

Complete the research mission "Emergency 2"

After completing the previous task, Wise will decide to talk to the Security Service officer standing on the street near the car to find out about the situation. Next, chat with the people you rescued: a fashionably dressed woman, two guys and a shy high school girl. The latter will tell you where Belle is.

Return to the video store, interact with the HDD system and click on the ball called “Main Line”. Next, select the “Emergency 2” order and click “Forward” to start the corresponding task. The game will advise you to take physical and fire characters of at least level 22. A detailed walkthrough of the quest can be found in our separate guide.

Complete the research mission "Things Got a Little Completely Out of Control"

After completing the previous quest and watching TV with Belle, head outside to meet the Shepherd at the cafe. Chat with him to receive a new order. Now return to the video store, interact with the HDD system and find the corresponding task in the “Main Line”.

The game will advise you to take ice and ethereal characters of at least level 23. We told you more about the progress of this order in separate material.

After completing the mission, chat with Belle, who will be sitting on the sofa in the office. A conversation with her will lead to the beginning of the next task - “Call from the depths of the cavern?..”. This quest will come to an end.
