In the world of video games, there is a huge community of fans who strive to make their gaming experience more fun and diverse - the community Baldur's Gate 3 not an exception. Where and how to install mods for Baldur's Gate 3
There are quite a lot of resources specializing in modifications for various games. We decided to include in the selection only fashion from the largest platform in this segment - NexusMods. In addition to excellent moderation and a large number of different mods for games from fans from all over the world, Nexus created their own convenient manager, the installation of which we will discuss below.
Before downloading mods, you need to choose how to install them:
- BG3 Mod Manager is a fan-made manager program that helps install, organize, check the compatibility and operation of downloaded modifications;
- Vortex – a manager from the creators of NexusMods, which greatly simplifies the process of installing mods for games uploaded to the developers’ website.
Let's take a closer look at the installation and operating principle of both mod managers.
Installing and using BG3 Mod Manager
BG3 Mod Manager can be called a more popular option for installing mods - it is mentioned more often, and use does not require registration + does not limit you in choosing sites with mods. It's more complex to use than Vortex, but in return you get more granular control over the customizations you load. Let's look at all the stages of loading in more detail:
Pay attention to the screenshots!
- First of all, go to >> resource for downloading BG3 Mod Manager << and go down the page to the point Setup . By clicking on the text to point 3[Grab the latest release] , you will start the process of downloading the archive with files. Before doing this, check the availability and relevance of versions of two system programs: .NET Framework 4.7.2 and .NET 7.0.13 from point 2 (links to download them are provided there);
After downloading, open the archive with the program → create a folder on your Desktop with a name convenient for you → move it to it

When BG3MM is installed, launch the program and go to the

- → Open Preferences . In the additional window you need add two paths : to the Data folder and the game launch file bg3.exe (it is stored in the bin folder);

- (if the mod contains several installation files or their versions, go to the tab Files → below select the download target and also click Manual Download ). You will be redirected to another page with a choice of installation speed, after which the archive will begin to download;
Open the downloaded archive and drag its contents (.txt files do not need to be moved) into
- Mods folder

When the mods are in the above folder, go back to BG3MM and update it using the button

- → after loading, drag the mod that appears in the right half of the screen to the left side (under the “Active Mods” column) → then open the context menu from the tab Files and save changes ( Save Order ); Now you can launch the game and check the operation of the modifications (in the manager there is a quick launch key next to the inscription None). allows you to avoid wandering through Baldur's Gate 3 folders and manually installing mods - the program itself understands where they need to be placed. An important condition for working with this manager is having an account on NexusMods. Let's go through the steps of downloading it:
Login or create an account on the official website

In the warning window, check for the presence of the required system programs and click again

After downloading and installing Vortex, open the manager and
- login to your NexusMods account
