It's just that sometimes it won't be easy to do. The fact is that the compass rings can rotate by different amounts - it depends on the bright star marks on the device. For example, one bright star circle means a turn of 60 degrees per turn. In addition, often you will not be able to select individual circles, which is why you have to twist two surfaces at once.
