In the guide we will tell you how to find a suitable enemy and ensure that he hits a squad member with a frightened status.
In the battle against the Howling Coffin, along with the “Frankenstein’s Dog” achievement, you can unlock another achievement - “ Ain’t Nothing to Fear ", the method of obtaining which was described in separate guide.
How to unlock the Frankenstein’s Dog achievement in Honkai: Star Rail
The condition for opening the “Frankenstein’s Dog” achievement is the defeat of any allied unit from the steel claws of the Howling Coffin, while the hero must be under the “Horror” debuff. If successful, a new achievement will appear in the “Thirst for Battle” set and will bring us +5 star jade.
Engage in battle with the Howling Coffin
The fight with this large mechanical monster, made in the likeness of the Borisinites, happens twice during the story campaign " Duel under the azure sky I ":
- We first come across him in the task “ Barking watchdog, sweet speeches ", where fur turns out to be a specific cargo of KMM;
- And the second time - on the quest " A clear conscience and a broken cage ", during a surprise attack on the crew of the Starlight Express and Hanyu V House of Shackles.
Later the robot will appear in different modes Virtual Universe, Hall of Oblivion, Pure fiction or Illusions of the end.
In addition to story missions and endgame content, the Howling Casket enemy is encountered on -3 tier of underwater prison, southeast of the Molten Prison teleporter.
The monster is guarding a luxurious chest, which we described in the guide to to all chests in the House of Shackles ( see paragraph 30 ).
How to defeat the Howling Coffin with Horror status
During the duel , the Howling Casket gradually enters a mode in which a special substance (lupotoxin) is released, characteristic of the biological prototypes of robots, the Borisinites.
When a red eye mark and “Haunting Horror” is activated, within a few turns he can fall into “ Horror "- the character icon is shrouded in a scarlet haze, and the hero becomes scared and cannot act for at least 2 turns (after the period expires, the effect is neutralized on its own, but it can also be removed by the abilities of allies).
In the guide to the achievement " Ain’t Nothing to Fear "We explained how you can neutralize the Haunting Horror, and now we will give some tips on how to hold out until you receive the Horror and not kill the enemy before he hits at least one member of your squad:
- If the Howling Casket is in the company of other monsters, initially focus on protecting your allies and neutralizing all small enemies - if they are not removed, the enemies may accidentally finish off the hero affected by “Terror” instead of the mechanical wolf. In addition to such tactics, you can simply take shield warriors into the squad, who will protect us until the status is activated;
- The robot is vulnerable to wind, imaginary and electrical types of damage, but breaking through its durability bar will only complicate and slow down the process. It is better not to take heroes of these elements, as well as highly pumped up damage control - this way you risk killing the mek before he applies the debuff or finishes off the frightened ally;
- Do not use heroes with skills that remove debuffs (such as March 7th, Lynx, Luocha or Huohuo ) - this will reduce the chance of activating “Horror” and the debuffs that precede it to zero.
So, if you take the time to weaken the Howling Casket, let it cast Haunting Terror on your character, leave it on until Terror is activated, and then let the metal wolf hit the frightened unit, you will unlock the Frankenstein’s Dog achievement. For its collection there is a standard reward of 5 star jade.
