Scrope's Last Hope is a unique Slytherin quest in Hogwarts Legacy. In the story, you will help Nigellus Black's house elf, visit Hagrid's shack and the secret squid cave. In this guide, we have detailed: the location of Scrope's notes, solving puzzles and the route to the grotto.

How to Start the Slytherin House Special Quest
- Recommended level: 5;
- Rewards: magic recipe; 260XP;
- Unlocked after completing story missions: "Trials of Merlin" ; classes in herbology and potions.
Faculty quests that will be unavailable to you:
- "The Ollivander Family Heirloom" - Mr. Ollivander, Ravenclaw;
- "The Hunt for the Missing Pages" - Nearly Headless Nick, Gryffindor;
- "Prisoner of Love" - Mission to Azkaban, Hufflepuff;
First, a letter from Scrope will be delivered to the owl post. He will offer the wizard a mutually beneficial deal: a family jewel in exchange for information about the missing pages of the book.
The elf is not ready to meet in person, so you need to find his message. It is located in the school yard in the mouth of one of the statues of the well. For a quick search, use the Revelio spell.
After that, the plot of the quest "Scrope's Last Hope" begins.
Location of all notes
Turn around and walk along the wooden suspension bridge to the place, as in the screenshot below. The second note is in the cobblestone, drag the crate with Levioso and Accio to the stone to pick up the message.
Follow the directions to get to the stone hut. Use "Revelio" near the garden to find the right pumpkin with a note. Break it with a basic spell.
Meet Scrope at the water's edge
Head down the path to the shore and meet Principal Black's house elf.
Explore grog
Gossip, now you can go to the battle with the topers.
In this quest, the route to the grotto is not important, you can walk along the coast or get on the water, you cannot avoid fighting monsters.
Use the entire combat arsenal for a quick victory:
- Throw Ancient Magic - stun the enemy with a rock (Z on PC; R1 on PlayStation)
- "Levioso" - Raises the toperoik when the creature attacks with its tongue.
- Ancient Magic - Almost always deals lethal critical damage to the enemy (X on PC; L1 + R1 on PlayStation).
Continue towards the mountains, you will have to enter a rocky arch and swim further along the stone tunnel.
Find a wall with a picture of a squid, there is a pedestal in front of it, put a toast from Scrope on it.
A cut-scene will start, after which an arch with a passage to a secret room will appear in the mosaic.
In the cache you will meet the ghost of Richard Galkrad. Talk to him to find out where the pages of the book you took from the forbidden section of the library are.
Burning candles card
Search the chest opposite the ghost. It contains a map of burning candles, which will be needed for a side quest "The Ghost of Our Love".
Return to Scrope
The house elf will be waiting for you on the shore.
Tell Scrope what happened to the Black family ring to complete the quest.
