In the forge of the Extinct Village, a task begins that will allow you to get a good weapon almost at the very beginning of your adventures. How to start a task
You can take the task by studying "blueprints from the High Cliff", which lie in one of the chests in the forge of the Extinct Village (or by reading the owner's notes on the second floor in the room near the fireplace). Inside the residential part of the building, a huge hole in the floor, covered with cobwebs, will be noticeable. Burn the barrier with fire and jump down, so you will find yourself in a room with a forge and chests.
A valuable ingredient for forging - sussar bark - can only be found in the Underdark where sooner or later the plot will take you. If you have not yet advanced that far, you can go down there “for five minutes”, just pick up the item you are looking for and return back using the teleporter.
How to get to the Underdark
There is at least four way to descend into the Underdark. Let's talk about them in descending order of popularity (in our opinion).
- The defiled temple in the goblin camp hides a door that opens one of the most obvious paths in the Underdark. Solving the puzzle in the moon temple and opening the passage is described in our separate material.
- Whispering abyss in a cave under the village, where you can go down through the well in the central square. We talked about it in the walkthrough guide basement pharmacy. After placing the unit on the web that spreads through the purple gap, burn it, after using the enchantment of smooth fall.
- Tunnel in Aunt Ethel's tea house. You will need to put on a mask lying on a table near the Crooked Door - this is the only way you will pass through an invisible barrier.
- The Zhentarim Sanctuary in Waukeen's Refuge. You can get here by completing the task "Find the missing cargo." There is a false wall in the northwestern part of the rooms, behind which there is an elevator that can lower you into the Underdark.
Where to find sussar bark
The sussar tree is located in the west of the location and the path to it will be different, depending on the place through which you entered the Underdark. We highlighted its location (X: -17, Y: -143) on the map, you just have to get there.
Running up the thick branches, you can collect the desired item - sussar bark.
How to smelt a weapon
Returning to the forge, interact first with the furnace, then with the furs near it. After that, you can click on the smelter and add sussar bark there - after that the flame will turn blue. Now you can forge weapons by adding the necessary item along with the bark: a two-handed sword, sickle or dagger. The source must be of normal white quality. As for the final weapon, regardless of the type, it imposes a silence effect on the enemy when it hits, and we have displayed its characteristics in the screenshot.
If suddenly the necessary blank is not at hand, you can search for it from the merchants with whom you previously traded. Most likely, they already got a solid amount of weapons of ordinary quality from you.
