Signature weapons or signs in Genshin Impact - this is a weapon created by the game developers specifically for a character. In this guide, we will take a closer look at this term and find out how to determine the sign for a particular hero, and which characters even have it.

What is signature weapon

As we mentioned in the introduction, a signature weapon (signature, signa) is a weapon designed for a specific hero. This means that both the main and additional characteristics best reveal the abilities of a fighter.

Note that this is not always the case in practice. The best weapon option often depends on the build of the character; in addition, there are almost always alternative options, and sometimes they are not inferior to the signature, and in some cases even turn out to be more convenient and efficient.

How to determine the signature

In fact, it is not always possible to immediately understand which weapon is the signature weapon for the hero; this is especially true for 4-star or long-released legendary characters. However, there are several ways to at least approximately determine the signal - we will analyze them below.

Weapon characteristics

Since the signature gun is designed specifically for a specific hero, its characteristics should reveal his abilities as much as possible.

For example, the signature Eimii – Thundering Pulse – can perfectly increase the damage from a normal attack, which the girl just uses.

There are also exceptions. For example, the “Vortex Vanquisher” spear is signature for Zhongli. Indeed, it can be useful for him, because it increases the strength of the shield, however, all other characteristics of the weapon are aimed at increasing the attack power, which the Archon does not particularly need in his classic support build.

Test run

This method works well for 5-star characters. With each new update, you can test the heroes of the current banner in a specific build and pack by completing a test run.

During the run, you can open the character menu and see what the Achievement: Hero is wearing in the assembly from the developers - usually this is his signature.

This does not apply to epic heroes - they are most often given some common weapon that suits them well, but is not a sign.

This method will also help determine the sign of the legendary hero. When a 5-star character appears in the event banner, it is his sign that is most often represented in the weapon banner.

For example, as we saw in the screenshots from the previous paragraph, Yoimiya wears a Thundering Pulse in a test run, and Yae Miko - The truth of Kagura. It is these weapons that we see in the current banner, which means that our guesses are correct, and these are their signatures.

The situation changes when the legendary Achievement: Hero has an epic signature weapon - then any weapon of the same type is put in the event banner. For example, signal Albedo – A 4-star sword, so during its banner, the drop rate of Precious Pool was increased.

Weapon history, appearance and lore

Very few weapons fall under this method of determining the sign, most of them are event weapons and new players will no longer be able to get them.

Such weapons are the Cinnabar Spindle - Signa Albedo from the event "Shadows Amidst Snowstorms" and Dodoco Tales - signal Klee from the event "Midsummer Island Adventure» .

One more similar signal can still be obtained - this is the Mitternachts Waltz for Fischl. He occasionally appears in weapon banners.

However, this method is not always reliable. For example, it is logical to assume that Kagotsurube Isshin, which we get in the legends task Kazuhi is his signature. However, despite the connection with his history, the weapon is not suitable for the samurai. In banners and test runs, he appears with an Oath of Freedom, which has the characteristics he needs. It turns out that on all counts, except for the lore, it is the Oath of Freedom that should be considered Kazuha's signature.

Another such example is Wolf’s Gravestone. The name and history allude quite clearly to Razora, and the design is Dilyuk. From the banners, runs, and art, it's also impossible to figure out who this weapon should belong to, and its stats fit both heroes pretty well. Thus, it is impossible to say with complete certainty for whom the Wolf’s Gravestone is a sign.
