Advantages and disadvantages of Xian Yun
Thanks to her abilities, she can heal her allies and enhance some of their attacks. Its main advantages also include:
- Reveals the system of falling attacks in a completely new way, as it not only strengthens them, but also increases the height of the active character’s jumps, giving him the ability to perform similar attacks almost at any time. No more trying to master "dragonstrikes", and damage dealers with a two-handed sword literally get a second life.
- It should be remembered that when attacks fall, there is no cooldown on the application (imposing an elemental status), which allows you to close the reaction with each such blow. This greatly increases the effectiveness of infusion damage dealers. At the same time, it is not necessary that they themselves possess it - they can also use someone else’s, for example, Bennett or Chun Yun.
- He has powerful healing abilities, so on the battlefield he can serve not only as a buffer, but also as a healer. Her treatment can restore health to the entire squad, both instantly and over a certain period of time.
- Can deal damage to Anemo from the pocket and cause Elemental Reaction: Swirl even with normal attacks; under certain conditions, you can even turn it into a secondary damage dealer.
- It is very easy to assemble, since for a support it will be enough to upgrade only two parameters: Obtaining Energy and attack power, and the latter characteristic will increase With You elevation.
- Does not require the presence of constellations and signature weapons for effective healing and buffing of attacks in the fall, so F2P players who plan to use her only as a support will probably like it.
- The elemental skill allows you to make very high jumps (even higher than Kazuha's), so you can easily climb high ledges or cross small bodies of water. Plus, her passive talent increases her gliding speed. All this makes it an excellent choice for exploring the world.
However, there are some downsides, many of which come directly from Xian Yun’s advantages:
- A very narrowly targeted buffer that only works well with those who play through attacks in the fall (Xiao, Ka Ming) or use a claymore with infusion (there are a few exceptions that can be added here, which we discussed below). For others, it will be useless, covering only the role of a healer in the team.
- The Whirlpool (screed) is completely absent from the arsenal, which is considered one of the main advantages of some Anemo supports. Plus, it is extremely necessary when using attacks while falling, since many light enemies will fly away from them in different directions. Therefore, to control the crowd on the battlefield, you will have to take another support character of the specified element.
- Very low personal damage, which can be significantly increased only by the 6th Constellation. However, even with him, it is not recommended to use her in the role of the main damage dealer, at most placing her in the place of a sub-dealer.
- The cost of an elemental explosion is relatively high (70 units), which is also the key ability of the Guardian of the Clouds, so it must be activated on cooldown. For this reason, it is necessary to take a second Anemo character into the team (battery), give the support a Favonius weapon, use a signa, or seriously work on increasing the heroine’s VE.
Xian Yun's Abilities
When performing a normal attack "The Word of the Wind and the Flower" the character summons up to 4 whirling streams of wind, and when charged, releases a wind ring in front of him, which deals damage to Anemo along the way and costs a little stamina. If attacked while falling, she accumulates energy and lands on the ground, attacking all enemies in her path and then dealing elemental damage in an area.
Explanation: The attacks look impressive and even hit relatively painfully, but they are extremely slow and are not enhanced in any way by other abilities (except for falling attacks), so using it as a driver is not recommended, as this will reduce the overall damage of the pack. That being said, regular hits are a good choice when you need to quickly close Elemental Reaction: Swirl to activate Emerald Shadow.
When using an elemental skill "White Clouds at Dawn" The character enters Cloud Transformation mode, taking no fall damage and performing one Sky Ladder. When hit while falling while in this state, she deals damage to Anemo in an area, ending the effect.
While this mode is active, the heroine can perform up to three sky ladders in total, with each one increasing the area and damage of the subsequent fall attack. You can only damage the same enemy with the Sky Ladder once. If, after activating the skill, you do not use the sky ladder and fall attack, then after a short period of time the Cloud Transformation state will disappear, and the cooldown time of the skill will be reduced by 3 seconds.
Explanation: When you press E-shki, the heroine will fly up, and you can raise her even higher by pressing the button twice again. Then, if you click on the LMB, the adept will make an attack while falling, inflicting area damage to Anemo (the more jerks there are, the higher the damage will be). However, a lot of time is spent on additional jumps, so performing them is not always advisable. For support, the main function of the skill is to charge an elemental explosion.
Elemental Burst "Twilight Gathering of Stars" creates a powerful wind that deals damage to Anemo in an area, restores the health of all party members (the amount of healing depends on the strength of Xian Yun's attack) and causes a Tangle of Stars. This mechanism moves behind the active hero, periodically healing the entire squad, increasing his jump height and allowing him to perform 8 hits while falling with additional Anemo damage.
Explanation: The amount of instant healing for an adept is almost two times lower than, for example, for Jean, but do not forget about periodic healing, which for the first time in the game restores the health of the entire team. This type of mechanic goes well with Furina’s E-shka. So, as a Traveling Doctor , Xian Yun is quite good.
However, the main function of the ult is, of course, giving any active character the ability to make up to 8 attacks while falling. Let us remind you that these attacks have significant multipliers (especially for claymore users) and they do not have a cooldown on the application, meaning you can close reactions with each attack. It is for this reason that many have studied the dragon strike technique (bouncing off an enemy to attack while falling). Now it’s enough to take the Guardian of the Clouds into the team.
It is also impossible not to mention Xian Yun’s very useful passive talents, namely:
- Crane Form – increases glider flight speed for all party members by 15%. Does not stack with other similar bonuses.
- White feather in the good wind – when hitting an enemy with a falling attack after activating the E-shka, for 20 seconds all team members are given the 1st level of the “Feather in the Wind” bonus. Each stack of this effect increases the chance of dealing critical damage with a fall strike by 4%/6%/8%/10% respectively. Each level has its own duration.
- Adept in his abode - with the ult active, the damage from the shock wave of the attack when the active hero falls increases by 200% of the attack power of the Guardian of the Clouds. The maximum damage can increase by 9000 units (which is difficult to achieve, since Xian Yun’s ATK in this case should be 4500 units). One fall hit can only deal additional damage to one enemy. Each squad member can activate this bonus once every 0.4 seconds.
Constellations Xian Yun
To open them, the character's Serendipity is required, which is issued in the event of duplicates of the heroine appearing, which, of course, is random. Considering the low drop rate of 5-star characters, you will need a lot of money and time to unlock all the constellations. However, even without them, Xian Yun will be able to perfectly perform the role of support.
If you have enough resources to open constellations, and you want to use your character as a damage dealer, then try to unlock C6, which increases Xian Yun's personal damage. If you will use it only as a support, you can stop at C1 and C2, which will facilitate the accumulation of energy, increase the effectiveness of the ult and strengthen attacks in the fall for allies. The entire list of constellations is presented below.
- Wind of Purification - Increases the number of charges of an elemental skill by 1. You will be able to deal more damage and gain additional energy particles, thereby speeding up the charging of the elemental explosion.
- Stepping away from the world – increases the heroine’s attack power by 20% for 15 seconds after she uses the E-shki heavenly ladder. The damage from the allied shockwave generated when performing a fall strike is increased by 400% of the adept's attack power. Maximum it can increase by 18,000 units.
- Creations of the star and moon – the elemental explosion level increases by three. Maximum level: 15th.
- Mysterious pearl millet - a Plunging Attacks with 1/2/3 of E-shki's heavenly ladders restores the health of all team members by 50%/80%/150% of the attack power of the Guardian of the Clouds. The bonus can appear once every five seconds.
- Riding on the clouds – the level of elemental skill increases by three. Maximum level: 15th.
- Spirit of the Guardian of the Clouds – critical damage from an attack in a fall with 1/2/3 E-shki heavenly ladders increases by 15%/35%/70%, respectively. For 16 seconds after using an ult, the cooldown of an elemental skill disappears (it can be performed without a cooldown a maximum of 8 times).
How to play as Xian Yun
The Cloud Guardian's key ability is its elemental burst, which gives the active character the ability to perform drop kicks anywhere. The ult lasts 16 seconds, and its cooldown is 18 seconds, that is, with sufficient energy recovery, it can last almost the entire duration of the battle.
The elemental skill will be partially responsible for Obtaining Energy , so you shouldn’t discount it. However, it is recommended for support to click on the E-shka only once, since completing the second and third heavenly ladder takes too much time, and the number of energy spheres from their use does not increase. You can also choose not to perform the attack at all, so that the cooldown of the skill is reduced by 3 seconds, and you can reactivate it faster.
The elemental skill should also be used due to the passive "White Feather on the Good Wind", which increases crit. chance of falling strikes. The main thing is to try to hit as many enemies as possible with the E-shank in order to immediately get 4 stacks of Feather in the wind. The second passive talent, “Adept in Her Abode,” will allow Xian Yun to deal damage from the pocket when the main DD hits opponents under her ultimate with attacks while falling.
The optimal rotation for support and sub-death dealers will look like this:
- Activate the elemental skill Xian Yun and after the first heavenly ladder (the secondary damage dealer can make 2-3 dashes) rush towards the opponents, attacking them as they fall. You will receive energy and turn on passive.
- Use the abilities of other supports and sub-DDs who hit from the pocket or provide infusion if the main DD does not have such an opportunity.
- Use the Guardian of the Clouds' elemental explosion to heal the squad and deal minor Anemo damage. Then you immediately switch to the main damage dealer and begin performing jump attacks with him. Perform 8 similar strikes, and then repeat the cycle from the very beginning.
If you have C6 open and plan to make this adept into a main DD, then the rotation will change. Firstly, you need to get 3 heavenly ladders to increase your crit. damage from subsequent attacks while falling by 70%. Secondly, after activating the ult, you do not need to switch to another hero - you will need to activate the E-shka 8 times (preferably a triple one), which will lose its cooldown.
The gameplay for Xian Yun in this case will in many ways resemble the game for Xiao. But you will have to try hard to level up her stats so that she can deal the same damage as Yax's Defender.

Concerning main characteristics of artifacts, then take the hourglass for attack power (or Obtaining Energy if there is a lack of energy), the cup (bowl) for attack power, and the crown (hat) for attack power (or critical chance / critical damage in the ratio of 1 to 2, if you plan to play as a damage dealer). The priority for choosing secondary parameters is as follows: Obtaining Energy, ATK%, elemental mastery and crits.
Note that the energy recovery value of Xian Yun in the absence of the second Anemo character in the squad should be more than 200%. If it is available, 170-180% will be enough.
Best commands for Xian Yun
We have already noted above that the Custodian of Clouds is best combined with damage dealers who play through attacks in the fall. Today there are only two such heroes in the game: Xiao and Ka Ming. It is with them that she will be able to reveal her potential by 120%. However, that's not all
In theory, you can use any fighters who do not play from stances with it (for example, Kamisato Ayato, Wanderer or Tartaglia), however, only characters with high multipliers for falling strikes will show the greatest effectiveness. They, as a rule, are the owners of a two-handed sword. Even better if they can get an infusion to stop the Melt or Steam reactions. Let us remind you once again that such attacks do not have a cooldown for the application.
You can also use a couple of damage dealers with elemental infusion, for example, Raiden Shogun, who has good multipliers for attacks in the fall and can easily apply an Electro element to her weapon.
If you managed to knock out C6, and you want to turn Xian Yun into a main damage dealer, then you will definitely need to add Faruzan (C6) and Bennett to the squad with her so that she can at least get a little closer to the top damage dealers. Of course, not everyone will be ready to pour so many resources into a character. All optimal commands are shown in the table below.

How to improve your skills

As for the order of leveling up abilities, first of all level up the burst of elements, and then increase the elemental skill. If you have C6, pump up your E-shka at the same time as your ult. Normal attacks are not needed even by the main damage dealer, so there is no need to increase them.
How to level up a character
You have to collect many different resources, the names and methods of extraction of which are listed below.
You can get Vayuda Turquoise from Hypostasis Anemo, Dvalin Storm Terror, Shouki no Kami, the Prodigal, Semi-eternal Observation Operator Matrix Algorithm and Maguu Kenki.
