In Genshin Impact Freminet is 4 star character, which possesses Cryo's eye of a god, and uses a two-handed sword in battle. In the squad, he can play the main damage dealer for physical or Cryo damage. In this guide, we will tell you about his best builds, weapons and artifacts, as well as recommended commands for him.
Note: Fontaine Diver is not yet officially released, so the data presented here is based on information received as part of the beta testing. If necessary, we will update the guide when the Achievement: Hero appears in the game.
Freminet main features
How to get Freminet
In the second phase of update 4.0 (September 6), this talented scuba diver will appear in banner, which will allow you to get it with a high probability. Then it will most likely be added to the standard Prayer, which will reduce the chance of it falling out. At the same time, developers often hold events in which they give 4-star heroes for free. If Freminet is added to such an event, then we will definitely tell about it.
Freminet characteristic progression
The table below shows how a character's base stats change as they level up.
Level | Base HP | Basic Attack | Basic protection | Attack Bonus | Crit chance. hits | Crete. damage |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 1012 | 21 | 59 | 0% | 5% | 50% |
20 | 2600 | 55 | 152 | 0% | 5% | 50% |
40 | 5027 | 106 | 295 | 6% | 5% | 50% |
60 | 7953 | 168 | 467 | 12% | 5% | 50% |
80 | 10698 | 226 | 628 | 18% | 5% | 50% |
90 | 12071 | 255 | 709 | 24% | 5% | 50% |
Advantages and disadvantages of Freminet
Thanks to her good offensive abilities, Freminet excels in battles, both with strong single opponents and with large enemy groups. Its advantages also include:
- Has a high base attack compared to other 4-star characters, making it easy to use as a main damage dealer.
- Thanks to a unique elemental skill, he can play through both physical and cryo damage. The new mechanics may appeal to players who are tired of the same gameplay.
- The ability to build two builds greatly expands the possibilities of players in creating a team.
- When elevated, the bonus to ATK increases, which greatly simplifies its assembly, since you can pay more attention to other stats.
- Even without the Constellations, he is able to perform his main function well, and with them he reveals himself even better.
- Relatively inexpensive ult (60 units), which allows you to pay less attention Energy recovery (VE).
- Possesses energy of Pneuma, which makes it easier to fight enemies from Fontaine and solve some local puzzles.
- His passive talent reduces swimming stamina costs, making it easier to explore Fontaine's underwater locations.
However, it was not without its minuses, many of which follow directly from the pros of the hero:
- Basic attack still falls short of 5-star damage dealers.
- It takes a good 5-star weapon to get the ATK up to acceptable levels. The choice of epic two-handers for him is small.
- For beginners or conservative players, it can be difficult to deal with a difficult hero elemental skill.
- In the physical build, the Saturated Deep Dive passive will be useless, and in the team for the Melt reaction, Parallel Capacitors will be used.
- Some players who are used to playing as spear or one-handed sword wielders may find Freminet attacks slow.
Freminet abilities
When making a normal attack "Sword of Whirlpools" the character makes up to 4 hits with his blade, charged - rotates the sword around him, and then performs an additional powerful blow, spending stamina on it. If it is in the air, then during the attack it falls down, and when it lands, it deals area damage.
Explanation: In terms of speed and multipliers, his normal strikes are comparable to Razor's attacks. You can of course try to play from a two-hit combo (requires an interrupt, as subsequent attacks are very slow), however, the most damage can only be received from an elemental skill that is under the influence of an elemental explosion.
In case of using an elemental skill "Drifting Ice Pressure" the diver performs an upward sword slash, dealing Cryo damage and activating Feather's Timer status for 10 seconds. In this state, the character begins to release waves of ice, dealing Cryo damage and increasing the pressure level.
In addition, the subsequent elemental skill transforms into Crushing Pressure, at which the Achievement: Hero begins to deal different attacks depending on the accumulated pressure stacks:
- Level 0: Inflicts Cryo damage with a vertical swing of the sword.
- Levels 1 to 3: Inflicts Cryo and physical damage with vertical swings. The amount of damage depends on the pressure stacks.
- Level 4: Deals Physical damage, changing normal hits to Crushing Pressure.
Not to mention the presence of Pneuma energy, thanks to which Freminet creates a Soulbreathing Needle at a certain interval after making an upward attack, which deals Cryo damage.
Explanation: In the Feather Timer state, the hero's normal attacks also start to deal Cryo damage, however, this mechanic should not be confused with infusion - consider it more like parallel attacks that do not deal much damage and are only needed to create reactions (Elemental Reaction: Frozen, Elemental Reaction: Superconduct or Melt). The key feature of the skill is the possibility of its transition into Crushing Pressure upon repeated use.
At the same time, any normal hit will increase the stacks of Crushing Pressure: from 0 to 4 - the higher the level, the more physical damage is inflicted and less Cryo (it is not at all on the last level). Thus, before pressing the E-shka again, you should make 4 normal attacks to cause maximum damage to the enemy (80% of the damage dealt will be physical).
By the way, at level 4, a normal hit will automatically activate Crushing Pressure. But in normal mode, the cooldown of the skill will still be about 5 seconds. To prevent this from happening, attacks should be performed after the activation of the ult, and now we will explain why.
Elemental Burst "Shadow Hunter Ambush" Deals area damage to Cryo and resets the cooldown of the elemental skill. The character also enters Spearfishing mode, which significantly increases their resistance to interruption, reduces the cooldown of the E-shki by 70%, normal strikes grant an additional stack of pressure, and frost waves begin to deal 200% of their original damage.
Explanation: Firstly, after using the ult, the cooldown of the E-shki is reset, so you can, for example, right before the explosion of the elements, perform a standard combo (skill + 4 normal hits + crushing pressure), and then immediately press the skill button again. Secondly, the combo itself under the ult is reduced (skill + 2 normal hits + crushing pressure), so in 10 seconds you can quite complete it 3 times.
We should also talk about Freminet unique passive talents, which are unlocked as he levels up:
- Deep Sea Navigation - Reduces the water stamina cost of the team by 35%. Does not stack with similar talents. Makes exploration of underwater locations more comfortable.
- Saturated Deep Dive - Reduces the cooldown of the skill by 1 second if the pressure level does not reach level 4 when using the E-shki again. An unusual passive that is useless for physical. build, but allows you to create a Cryo build (for more details on the mechanics, see the section on how to play as Freminet).
- Parallel Capacitors - When activated on an enemy reactions Broken (requires it to be frozen and hit with a two-handed weapon) Crushing Pressure damage is increased by 40% for 5 seconds. A useless passive for Melting, but great for Freezing.
Constellations Freminet
To open them, you need character Serendipity , obtained by dropping duplicate fighters during Prayers, that is, this process is completely random. However, the chance of getting 4-star heroes is much higher than 5-star ones, so you might as well try opening some constellations. Although even without them, Freminet can play the role of a main-DD quite well.
If you are still aiming to unlock the constellations, then we recommend that you try to unlock at least C1, as it will allow you to significantly increase the Crushing Pressure for both the physical and Cryo builds. C3 and C6 also look good. The list below lists all the constants:
- Dreams of Foam and Depths - Increases the critical strike chance of Crushing Pressure by 15%.
- Penguins and the Realm of Plenty - Using Crushing Pressure at levels 0-3 restores 2 energy, and at level 4 it restores 3 energy. Allows you to pay even less attention to HE, increasing mainly attacking parameters.
- Song of whirlpools and sand - the level of normal attacks increases by three. Maximum level: 15th. Useful for a physical build.
- Dance of the Moon and Flute - After activating the Shattered, Elemental Reaction: Frozen , and Elemental Reaction: Superconduct reactions, the hero's attack power is increased by 9% for 6 seconds. The bonus stacks up to two times and can appear once every 0.3 seconds.
- Hearth and Fun Nights - Elemental skill level increased by 3. Maximum level: 15th. A useful constellation for any build.
- Dream Moment of Decisiveness - After activating the Shattered, Elemental Reaction: Frozen , and Elemental Reaction: Superconduct reactions, the hero's critical damage is increased by 12% for 6 seconds. The bonus stacks up to three times and can appear once every 0.3 seconds.
How to play Freminet
Much depends on what kind of build you are going to create - for physical or Cryo damage. The first one is more preferable, since in theory it can deal more damage, so let's start by considering exactly physical assembly. In this case, your procedure will look like this:
- If the ult is ready, then immediately activate it. Otherwise, combo E-shki, 4 regular hits, and Crushing Pressure.
- Then you activate the Elemental Burst, click on the E-shka, already perform 2 normal attacks instead of 4, and perform Crushing Pressure for maximum physical damage.
- The cooldown of the skill drops to 3 seconds, so during the duration of the ult (10 seconds), it is quite possible to have time to perform the above combo three times.
- The cooldown of the elemental explosion is 15 seconds, so the extra 5 seconds can be used either to perform a normal combo (see the first paragraph), or to use the skills of the rest of the team members.
By the way, your ally may well be a Hydro applicator, such as Yelan or Xingqiu, which will help you apply Freeze on enemies, and then trigger the Shattered reaction to activate the Parallel Capacitors passive, thereby increasing the physical damage from Crushing Pressure even more.
Now let's move on to Cryo assembly, which could not exist without the Saturated Deep Dive talent, since without it the character's ice damage is very small. The main damage in it will be applied using the Melt reaction. So, in this build, the rotation will look like this:
- First of all, put a Pyro status on the enemies, using the abilities of the Pyro sub-DD and supports.
- If the ult is ready, then immediately activate it. Otherwise, combo E-shki, 3 normal hits and Crushing Pressure (thus you will constantly deal Cryo damage).
- Then you activate the Elemental Burst, under the influence of which the cooldown of the E-shka can be only 2 seconds, if you do not make 2 normal hits, that is, your combo will consist of only two use of the skill. During the duration of the ult, it can be repeated up to 5 times, constantly inflicting Cryo damage.
- In free 5 seconds, you can use the abilities of allies again.
In addition, Chun Yun's Cryo Infusion does not affect Crushing Pressure, so do not expect that with him in a team you will be able to use a standard combo with 4 (or 2) normal hits, so that later you will deal not physical, but ice damage to enemies .
The best builds for Freminet
Basic physical damage
In this build, Freminet will use her normal attacks a lot, so it will be useful to buff them. In general, you should take weapons to increase crits, attack power and physical damage. The table below shows the most suitable two-handed swords.
Name and rarity | Characteristics (level 1-90) | Passive ability |
---|---|---|
Song of Broken Pines (5 stars) |
Basic Attack: 49~741 Physical bonus. damage: 4.5~20.7% |
Increases Attack Rating by 16%, and successful Light and Charged Hits grant Seals of Whispers. When four seals are accumulated, they disappear, and the character gains normal strike speed (12 percent) and attack power (by 20 percent) for 12 seconds. Great option for physical DD, as it increases almost all the parameters Freminet needs. Its only drawback is the lack of crits that you have to get from artifacts. |
Reed Sea Lighthouse (5 stars) |
Crete. chance: 7.2-33.08% Basic Attack: 46~608 |
When an elemental skill hits an enemy, increases attack power by 20~40% for 8 seconds. When damaged, increases ATK by 20~40% for 8 seconds. These bonuses occur even when the Achievement: Hero is not on the battlefield. Plus, if the fighter equipped by it does not have a shield, then its maximum health increases by 32~64%. An excellent weapon that can compete with the previous two-hander, because although it has a lower base attack, it increases the crit chance. hits and can significantly increase ATK with his passive. True, with this sword you will have to abandon the shieldman in the team. |
Wolf’s Gravestone (5 stars) |
Attack Power: 10.8% -49.6%. Basic Attack: 46~608 |
Attack power is increased by 20-40%. If the opponent's HP drops to 30%, the attack power of each team member increases by 40-80% for 12 seconds. The ability can appear no more than once per 30 seconds. Significantly increases the attack power of Freminet and the entire squad, however, it will be more useful for Cryo DD than physical. DD. If there are no alternatives, you can use it. |
Skyward Pride (5 stars) |
Obtaining Energy: 8%~36.8% Basic Attack: 48~674 |
Increases damage dealt by 8%~16%. When using the ult and hitting enemies with simple and charged hits, a blade is created that deals 80% ~ 160% damage to all enemies in the way. The effect ends after eight blades or 20 seconds. Has a high base attack and increases HP, allowing you to use the ult on the cooldown. However, if a battery is present in the team, then the usefulness of the sword drops significantly. |
Redhorn Stonethresher (5 stars) |
Basic Attack: 44~542 Critical Damage: 19.2~88.2% |
Increases defense by 28~56% and damage from normal and charged hits by 40~80% of the defense value. It gives less attack than previous swords, and the passive doesn't do much good for Freminet. It is interesting only for the ability to significantly increase crits. In this case, ATK can be recruited with artifacts. |
Prototype Archaic (4 stars) |
Basic Attack: 44~565 Attack Power: 6~27.6% |
Has a 50% chance to deal 240~480% damage in a small area when hit by a Normal or Charged Hit. The effect occurs every 15 seconds. One of the best epic two-handers for Freminet, which you can simply craft. Gives him the ATK he needs, but crits will have to be mined from artifacts. |
Serpent Spine (4 stars) |
Crete. chance: 6%~27.6% Basic Attack: 42~510 |
The hero's damage dealt is increased by 6%~10% every 4 seconds, but the damage taken is also increased by 3%~1.8% while active. The effect can be stacked up to five times and does not disappear if you change characters, but if you take damage, it decreases by 1 stack. A good weapon for Freminet, increasing his damage and crits. But you can only get it from a paid PSU. Plus, the team will need a good shielder for a set of passive stacks. |
Snow-Tombed Starsilver (4 stars) |
Basic Attack: 44~565 Physical bonus. damage: 7.5~34.5% |
Has a 60% chance to create an ice Elemental Reaction: Crystallize over an enemy on a normal or charged strike that falls down and deals 80% of attack power in an area of effect. If enemies have About Cryo, then they take 200% damage. The ability manifests once every 10 seconds. Can be obtained by activation stone slabs in Dragonspine. Another nice free option for Freminet, giving him a damage boost and some attack. But the second part of the passive will not always work. |
Note: If you intend to play from the Shattered reaction, you can try to increase mastery of the elements Freminet, to increase damage from splitting enemies.
As for artifacts, the best set for physical. DD will become "Pale Flame", 2 items of which increase the hero's physical damage by 25%, and 4 items increase the hero's attack by 9% for 7 seconds when an elemental skill successfully hits enemies. The latter effect can stack up to two times and occur no more than once per 0.3 seconds. At level 2, physical damage is increased by 100 percent. You can get it in the dungeon "Ridge Watch".
If you have not yet managed to assemble a complete set with suitable characteristics, then you can temporarily use the following incomplete sets:
- Pale Flame/ Bloodstained Chivalry - 2 pieces increase physical damage by 25%. The latter is mined in the dungeon "Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern".
- Gladiator’s Finale - 2 pieces increase attack power by 18%. Dropped from elite bosses.
If we talk about the main characteristics of artifacts, then take an hourglass for ATK% (or VE, if there is a shortage of it), a goblet (bowl) - a bonus of physical damage, and a crown (hat) - for crit. chance / crit. damage in a ratio of 1 to 2. The priority of choosing secondary parameters is as follows: Obtaining Energy (bring it to 120%) > crits > attack power%.
Primary cryo damage
In general, the selection of weapons will be about the same, with the exception that you can not look at the physical damage in the sub-stat at all and pay more attention to the attack power. The table below shows some of the most interesting options.
Name and rarity | Characteristics (level 1-90) | Passive Ability |
---|---|---|
Reed Sea Lighthouse (5 stars) |
Crete. chance: 7.2-33.08% Basic Attack: 46~608 |
When an elemental skill hits an enemy, increases attack power by 20~40% for 8 seconds. When damaged, increases ATK by 20~40% for 8 seconds. These bonuses occur even when the Achievement: Hero is not on the battlefield. Plus, if the fighter equipped by it does not have a shield, then its maximum health increases by 32~64%. Here, too, he is the best option for Freminet, since his ability does not depend on normal attacks. |
Significantly increases ATK, which determines the damage of Freminet abilities, and, therefore, the damage inflicted by Cryo. However, again, crits will have to get from artifacts. |
Also suitable for Cryo damage. |
Blackcliff Slasher (4 stars) |
Basic Attack: 42~510 Attack Power: 12~55.1% |
For defeating enemies, increases ATK by 12~24% for half a minute. The bonus can stack up to three times. Increases crits and can give a lot of ATK when fighting large enemy groups. In the case of a battle with a powerful single enemy, it is less effective. |
Prototype Archaic (4 stars) |
Basic Attack: 44~565 Attack Power: 6~27.6% |
Has a 50% chance to deal 240~480% damage in a small area when hit by a Normal or Charged Hit. The effect occurs every 15 seconds. For Cryo the damage dealer is less useful, but still a good free sword. |
If you pick up artifacts, then incomplete sets can be a good option for a Cryo damageer:
- Blizzard Strayer – 2 pieces increase Cryo damage by 15%. Can be found in the dungeon "Peak of Vindagnyr".
- Gladiator’s Finale - 2 pieces increase attack power by 18%. Dropped from elite bosses.
If you really want to use the full set, you can collect "Golden Troupe", 2 parts of which increase the damage of an elemental skill by 20%, and 4 parts of which increase the damage of an elemental skill by an additional 25%. If the owner is not on the battlefield, then the damage of the E-shki increases by another 25%. 2 seconds after the character leaves the pocket, the bonus disappears. You can get it in the dungeon "Denouement of Sin".
As for the main characteristics of the artifacts, then take the hourglass for ATK% (or VE, if there is a shortage of it), the goblet (bowl) - the Cryo damage bonus, and the crown (hat) - for crit. chance / crit. damage in a ratio of 1 to 2. The priority of choosing secondary parameters is as follows: Obtaining Energy (bring it to 120%) > crits > attack power%.
The best commands for Freminet
Here, a lot will depend on what kind of build you are going to use (physical or cryo damage), whether you will try to play through the Shattered reaction, for which the Hydro applicator is required in the squad, or you will be enough with the usual build for physical damage.
First, let's look at the commands for the physical damage dealer. The best options are shown in the table below.

Freminet pumping
How to improve skills
You have to search and collect a wide variety of materials, namely:
- Teachings, directions and philosophies about "Justice" - obtained on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays in the dungeon "Pale Forgotten Glory".
- Transoceanic Pearl, Transoceanic Chunk , and Xenochromatic Crystal - Drop from Fontmer's aliens, buy with Starglitter , or craft with Alchemy.
- Worldspan Fern - Dropped by a weekly boss Guardian of Apep’s Oasis.
- Crown of Insight - can be obtained during events, as well as by leveling the Sacred Sakura, the Permafrost Tree, the Dream Tree and the Lucine Fountain.
If we talk about the priority of pumping talents, then for physical. damage elemental skill should be pumped simultaneously with normal attacks, and Elemental Burst - as far as possible. For Cryo DD, first increase your E-shku, and only then the ult. Normal punches can not swing.
